GW stated in the presentation that France currently had just 2% of homes with smoke detectors fitted (incredibly low but true apparently) whilst UK is currently at 88% coverage.
The March 2015 regulatory requirement will not see the French move quickly to 100% indeed whether they will even reach the UKs level is probably unlikely as the mentality in France can be indifferent to change even with legislation and insurance requirements leading the demand curve. I personally expect three years of solid sales growth in France and I it will be interesting to see how many million out of the 20 to 32 million (1 per home and 1.6 average per home in UK) potential are sold in the first year (2015)of legislation kicking in..

How many years to get to the UK level ?

Looking to top up, but chart wise it may need a little heat taken out of the share price before it merits to buy again.

coffee and biscuits was ok with food .
Did find SPRP something to watch for me .
Not holder yet but might get in if there is dip in price or mkt.
He was very good in answering most questions and they took more time then all other co.
If they right what they say about europe will be more good for co specially France and Germany..

Anybody see SPRP present at the ShareSoc Growth Company Seminar last night? Any feedback would be most appreciated, even if it's just commentary on the coffee + biscuits served ;o)

Hi shauney2,

Makes one wonder why the finance man sold half his holding only 2 weeks ago.

He sold half his physical, IIRC, but has another 300,000 SPRP @60p or so under his LTIP, so still plenty of skin in the game.......

E and OE,DYOR etc etc

Splendid write up GHF. I was fortunate enough to have noticed your original post almost 2yrs ago which lead me to first look into SPRP as an investment proposition so I have a lot to thank you for having invested near the foot of the escalator. My holding is no longer as large as it once was as SPRP was becoming a disproportionately large constituent of my portfolio + I have been slicing as the price has steadily risen. The fact that there are plenty of new investors happy to hop on to the SPRP escalator at this level hopefully bodes well for the remainder of my holding. If ever we meet (regrettably couldn't manage it to Mello in Derby this yr), remind me that I owe you a very large bottle of wine + a packet of pork scratchings :o)

Great write up GHF. I only came across Sprue fairly recently but my thoughts mirror yours in terms of further growth - although of course without your eloquence - so have taken an initial position and will look to add.

I understand that the Patent Box benefit may be withdrawn in the Autumn budget statement although ii's not clear how/if it will be replaced,

Following a few posts on this thread & emails I've received on Sprue's future growth, I've decided to write-up up the opportunities & future developments that may materialise IMHO.

PJ1 kindly provided an overview a few posts back. I also note the wheeliedealer’s blog which is very enthusiastic (although unfortunately contains a couple inaccuracies) & provides a decent stab at future shareprice projections depending on the value metric the market affords the company.

Regards,
GHF

I did some work for a mobile operator earlier this year. Machine to machine is their next big thing, the smoke detector is monitored remotely / in transport the food delivery lorry sends info on temperature. Intuitively there seem multiple applications and securing a share of the market would seem like quite a good idea ;0

PJ1 - Hi, I think WheelieDealer blog has bit on this. Big driver seems to be Regulation from EU. Other future thing is 'connected home' stuff - there is a trial going on in Hull I understand. ...p
