21/11/2014 12:08 | My understanding- Ref France. Whilst the legislation has an end date March 2015, full take up is improbable. It could take 18 months/ 2 years before (e.g.) 90% plus compliant. Note-increase in Sales in France-competitors could not supply the additional demand. SPRP could- new customers? Germany- potential is the wrong word. All states are compliant other than 2 or 3 now. Note-10 year life cycle of product- Replacing is starting to kick in! Also I may have missed this, but we have just had our boiler serviced. It was logged straight onto a hand held computer and plumber stated they have been informed all landlord UK will have to have CO2 detectors in any rented property. 21/11/2014 11:40 | A question for glasshalfull and others, I'm just looking at forward visibility and future business potential for SPRP and wanted to know some further insight - its great that business is booming in France due to legislation but that only takes us until March 2015 and after that it will probably be new builds that they concentrate on. Where will future revenue likely come from for SPRP in France thereafter? Also I know Germany is a potential market for them are there any other countries that they are looking to expand in? many thanks | mg1982
21/11/2014 11:02 | These were an OFEX company when I first bought in 2007. The company was always excellently run, but has been transformed over the last few years. | the big fella
20/11/2014 21:28 | WD, interesting website and lots of useful information and very entertaining. I first bought some shares when they traded on ISDX and have recently added more. It's a great company . DYOR | djabel666
20/11/2014 15:40 | Hi all, I just posted a Blog on SPRP with targets and stuff on my website. Sorry it lacks company detail but time short... Hope you like it. wd | thewheeliedealer
20/11/2014 09:30 | Surely to 20p pencilled in for next year will have to be significantly revised upwards. Can easily see 25p + eps next year. Westhouse presumably will be revising up both forecast earnings and share price target at some point. | the big fella
20/11/2014 09:10 | Good to see another ahead statement from this gem of a company | mg1982
20/11/2014 08:34 | Sorry yes, ISDX is correct. I am not familiar with that platform at all. | fozzie
20/11/2014 08:27 | Guessing you mean ISDX? I remember reviewing every ISDX share some time ago, and I think all of the good ones have since moved to AIM! | jamielein
20/11/2014 08:27 | Its a thing of Beauty in my (2014 struggling) portfolio. | pj 1
20/11/2014 08:14 | I became aware of this company about 18 months ago but I didn't pursue my interest as I couldn't buy them in my sipp or isa. I wish I had pursued my interest, my disinclination to buy on idox has proved expensive. Are there any other Sprue like companies traded on idox I wonder? Onwards and upwards it would seem here. | fozzie
20/11/2014 08:10 | If the semantics of the RNS are all we have to worry about here then happy days! They don't need to update if results are less than 10% out either way so I am going for around 10% as my guess. The bigger question is what does it mean for 2015? That sort of momentum could mean big things for 2015. Need to see some 2015 updates now. These boys are very very good indeed | harrogate
20/11/2014 08:08 | Whether they're 7% or 15% ahead, Sprue have continued to impress. Very happy to hold. | jamielein
20/11/2014 07:52 | "Significantly ahead" usually refers to >10%. "Ahead" = somewhat less than 10% IMO. | eeza
20/11/2014 07:31 | Well done to all at Sprue...further "ahead" statement this morning. Initially 15p EPS had been pencilled in for 2014 (38% EPS growth). In August 2014 this was upgraded further to 16.8p (54% EPS growth) before today's statement indicating record sales & orders. What does this translate to? Well an "ahead" statement normally indicates minimum 10% improvement to forecasts...which would indicate 18.5p EPS or +70% earnings improvement on 2013. What's not to like.... Regards, GHF | glasshalfull
20/11/2014 07:21 | Another ahead statement today, we just keep powering on here, long may it continue. | fozzie
13/11/2014 13:21 | Whilst this is most definitely entering blue skies territory the 'connected' appliance could have a massive market. Figures given at Mello stated that there were in the UK 50 deaths from CO, 300 fire deaths but 20,000 died of cold. A temperature sensor would cost tuppence halfpenny to add to the appliance. | glaws2
13/11/2014 12:25 | sebass- I think one of the major positives from 'connected home' is that it will reduce the need for care by allowing for e.g. elderly to remain in their homes much longer. This would also require less home visits and maintainence in general, therefore reducing expenses all round. From my limited experience, home visits especially for servicing are in real terms expensive as there is no quantifiable financial benefit from them to the end user. It would make common sense for any testing or replacement (if required) to be doubled up with, for example, the gas service, or meter readings? The fact its managed over the internet is again a pointer to reduce personpower required. Im sure SPRP will elaborate as the trial progresses. GHF may well comment as well | pj 1
13/11/2014 12:15 | Thanks PJ1 maybe this will generate recurring revenues in the future: "We are excited about the potential of Sprue's "connected home" trial which is due to start shortly and will allow us to connect and remotely monitor our market leading wireless smoke and CO products over the internet. The market potential of Sprue's connected home product offering looks highly promising although the market is still in its infancy." | sebass
13/11/2014 12:15 | Following Mello 2014 and subsequent research I have taken a small initial position - will look to build over time. | glaws2
13/11/2014 12:01 | Its cheaper to renew the product than pay anyone to travel and service it with associated overheads. As far as Im aware all products have a self test facility. I also think SPRP test much more of their manufacturing process than competitors, The new products are being developed so 100% are tested in the manufacturing process. I also do not believe any competitor is anywhere near this. However we would need to clarify with SPRP if every product in the range will be 100% tested. (The testing is not a separate manufacturing process with labour, handling costs and time constraints but is built into the existing procedure) | pj 1
13/11/2014 11:33 | Does anyone know whether Sprue Aegis have any recurring revenues excluding the 10 year replacement cycle. I am thinking about revenues from servicing the fire alarms etc.. | sebass
12/11/2014 19:39 | ;-)) yes exactly !! Page 20, I suspect now on AIM it will be broken down by director in future but unsure. | pj 1
12/11/2014 19:21 | Hi PJ1, Thanks for the info. For my future education, where was it , please ? So the FD's 20K disposal should be seen in the context of 300K share options at 35p, exerciseable by June 2017...... Looks as though he's going to have some more tax planning to do ;-> ! ATB | extrader
12/11/2014 18:56 | I assume emolument is the combined remuneration of the Directors and/ plus any bonus? | pj 1 |
