A few of you may have listened to the new ADVFN podcasts...and you'll be pleased to know that Justin covered SPRP as an investment idea following a suggestion by myself (essentially a copy of the thread header).

You can listen to it here

Just to clarify, I am not qualified to provide investment advice and was simply providing my own target price 12 months out which is 400p (37% higher than 270p price at time of suggestion) & based on SPRP delivering 20p EPS in 2015, with market affording the company a higher rating given their earnings track record. I'm basing valuation on the company achieving a PER 20.

Kind regards,
GHF

Thanks for all your work here David. The PI community owes you a debt of gratitude for your sterling efforts in bringing investors together from all over the UK to meet with top-drawer companies and keynote speakers the calibre of Giles Hargreave, Gervais Williams (Fund Manager for Miton & 5% SPRP shareholder), Katie Potts and Lord John Lee to name a few. Here's a link that works.

I'll be attending Derby for all 3-days and would welcome the opportunity to meet with fellow SPRP investors...so please flag if you're going or contact me on ...

As David mentions, Graham Whitworth will be attending & therefore a great opportunity to meet with the team that have delivered exceptional growth these last 5/6 years.

Regards,
GHF

Probably this:

"I also bought some Sprue Aegis (SPRP) which came up at the back end of the seminar getting some at 290.2 this afternoon.

We know parts of the world are going health and safety mad so this is a H and S play. It has good cash and a good rising business so my thought is unless question marks appear or there is a market meltdown then my thoughts are a potential long-term ISA hold."

Westhouse;

Forecast profit growth getting safer

We increase our target price to 400p (from 300p) following record interim results and confirmation that Sprue Aegis is on track to hit our upgraded FY2014 adj. PBT forecast. We expect the 2p maiden interim dividend will be well-received by investors as they turn their focus on our FY2015 and FY2016 forecasts. With its significant investment in new technology, products, brands and distribution channels, profits will be operationally geared as Sprue takes advantage of demand drivers in Europe and the UK. We keep our Buy rating.

Good stuff GHF. Thanks for the header update. Nice to have a new target to aim at, even if it does come from the house broker :o)

Well yet again I find myself congratulating GW and his team at SPRP for delivering excellent results. It’s a habit I don’t mind repeating time & time again.

Per the 18/08/14 "ahead" trading update, they’ve produced results in line with expectations. EPS +33.6% in H1; confirmation that French order books at record levels & Continental Europe performing ahead of expectations. Indeed, Continental Europe witnessed 40% growth in H1 & accounted for 46% of H1 turnover.

I’m sure I wasn’t alone in welcoming the maiden interim dividend. This was a very astute move on the company’s behalf IMHO and can only make them a more desirable investment to income funds. One of SPRP’s main strengths as an investment proposition has been the progressive dividend they introduced in 2010 following release of 2009 results. We’ve moved from a 0.5p dividend at that time to 6p in summer 2014…so a considerable rise in 4-years. This move appears to be the next stage on the journey with Westhouse indicating an 8p dividend this year (2.9%) which is forecast to increase to 10p for 2015 (3.6% yield) & to 12p in 2016 (4.3% yield).

As I’ve previously mentioned, SPRP’s progress is underpinned through their iP and work in expanding & transforming the existing product range. This should become evident in coming months through launch of new UK Trade range; the Nano miniaturised CO sensor which they’ve developed during the last 3-years ready for products at the end of 2014 (leading to cost saving/margin improvement) & the connected home product developing further in the next few years.

We also have the additional benefit of reduction in the annual distribution fee during the next 3-years, improved credit terms; fixed product prices and fixed exchange rate through their distribution agreement with Jarden, all of which should contribute to the bottom line.

I’ve updated the header to reflect earnings history & forecasts alongside what I consider to be the 3 main points which make this such a compelling investment. This would also appear to be reflected by Westhouse who today increased their target price for SPRP from 300p to 400p.

Well done Sprue!

Kind regards,
GHF

I think we will need to see what the number for 2015 looks like. It was 20p when 2014 was at 15p. Given they seem to be doing 10p in H2 2014 you would have thought that 2015 was now going to be well over 20p ( although not fully sure of seasonality) and when that comes out we might get some further rerating. What a class act these guys are. With this and Renew as my top 2 holdings the stock market has been a nice place in the last 2 years. Finding it very hard to spot similar companies though at the moment. It just shows you need to back good management when you find it.

They seem to be delivering in line with forecast which is very reassuring. Forecast 2014 PER of 16.4, PEG 0.3 - suggests a rerating in due course. Looks like some taking profits this morning

Unaudited Interim Results -

"Board has declared a maiden interim dividend of 2p per share payable on 30 October 2014 to shareholders on the register on 10 October 2014 [ex-div 8/10]."

"Our order book is at record levels extending out to 2015, helped in particular by strong demand for our smoke alarm products in France ahead of the introduction of new legislation in March 2015 which requires all domestic properties in France to fit at least one working smoke alarm."

"Sprue is on track to deliver record results for the year."
