I've just had another look at my selftrade account and I actually purchased more after the x div date so the div amount payable was 4.63p a share in my ISA. sorry for any confusion I may have caused.

Regarding your SIPP, it depends on your personal tax position. If you are above your Lifetime Allowance...which your SPSY holding alone would be miles above, then it could be a marginal tax rate of 55% on any further value you create through dividends or capital growth on SPSY in a SIPP. When some of the Nabil Initiatives come in, and the shares are much higher than now...you might regret having them in a SIPP! Perhaps a small proportion of your SPSY, but crucially well well well BELOW the Lifetime Allowance, may make sense in a SIPP and save a few K of witholding on the Divi. Give me a ring if you want me to explain further.

HL have paid me 4.64p which ties in roughly with 15% of 5.5p (full divi?)

HSBC have paid me 3.9p which roughly ties in with the additional 15%.

HSBC are adamant the 15 % cannot be claimed back even with the WB8 form signed. I gave up trying to get the reason why.

Thanks for the replies looks like selftrade has short changed me this time. They have got it right over US stock in the past but the difference between 4.059p and 4.675 seems rather more than an extra margin on the forex

That was the trading account and the ISA. The full 5.5p in the SIPP

for info-
HL do take part transfers in to ISA, so I will be transferring my SPSY holdings from HSBC to HL, and saving reducing the witholding tax from 30% to 50%

@PJ Re: brokers that don't deduct etc, see article below, which discusses the withholding tax on tax exempt and ordinary shareholding accounts.

My IG ISA, as with others above, did have 30% deducted. This was done by their clearers Citi despite W8Ben's being in place. Now the correct 15% deducted.

My HL share dealing account had the correct 15% deducted.

Tried to remove the "hxxps" to change it to the correct "https" by Tiny url but it doesn't seem to work. Anyone know how to post Urls on here that work?

I received 4.04p via HSBC and HL ISA.

Does anyone know if you can transfer just the SPSY holdings from an ISA into another that doesn't deduct the full 30%? 9and which ISA providers don't deduct it)
