London, October 19, 2000 - Baltimore Technologies plc ("Baltimore" or "the
Company") announces that the placing price for the institutional placing in
connection with the acquisition of Content Technologies Holdings Limited
("Content Technologies") has been set at #4.40 per ordinary share. This price
represents a discount of 0.90% to the closing mid-market price of Baltimore's
shares of #4.44 on the London Stock Exchange on 18 October 2000.

The institutional placing comprises 37,869,249 new Baltimore shares of which
22,156,257 shares are being placed on behalf of shareholders of Content
Technologies. One of such selling shareholders, 3i, has granted the
underwriters an option to purchase up to 2,000,000 additional Baltimore shares
at the placing price. The total net proceeds to the Company (after the
underwriters' commissions and other expenses of the placing) will be
approximately #66 million
