On the positive side, Sondrel seems to have excellent technical and management quality, a very strong niche in the market, and the potential for significant revenue growth coming from its US pipeline of $100m. There is no debt today.

The problem from their last interim results is that their margin is relatively small at 10-20%, they are still losing substantial amounts of money proportional to the company size, and that they ultimately have no cash left. So there will definitely be a placing in the coming few weeks, and I suspect that it may well be in the next few days, to take advantage of the spike. I think they will realistically need to raise £10m to allow themselves a runway to reach profitability by say 2025. The only question is - what price the placing?

I would add that there were clearly a number of people took Siemens' 11% of the company at 6p in December - because there was no TR1 for major holdings. So there will be a major overhang of shares from those holders cashing in a very nice 100-200% profit in just a few weeks.

Place your bets gentlemen :-)

I like this bit

'Sondrel solved a problem that others could not, and that was necessary for the finished product, so it played a pretty significant role,' the insider told MailOnline.

Exactly Someuwin, these low levels for the shares is ridiculous given the news article & this mornings RNS. With such massive projects & order book even I can tell it's worth backing just for their massive blue chip customers alone! It had less potential than this when it floated recently at 55pence!! I actually Hope more uninformed Shorters jump on so we can burn them up! Even the city will be able to work out the benefits of investing some tiny working capital here is a no brainer. Heck if silicon valley gets a whiff no telling how high it could go.

The Company remains encouraged that demand for Sondrel's ASIC services, including in the US, remains strong and that the Group continues to trade in line with current market expectations with a number of new ASIC business opportunities at advanced stages of negotiation. advanced stages...don't think we will have long to wait at all

This has gone from being a risky punt to an emerging global chip major. Powering Elon Musk's technology. And all for £14m!

Exactly. £100m is just for this one alone too...I think ~£170m+ pipeline is highly material to a ~£10m market cap minnow like Sondrel ;)Shorters think a working capital raise is worth being scared of lol. This capital will help it deliver millions in new order in its EXISTING pipeline AND ALLOW IT TO GROW FASTER. City needs to do its job or Silicon Valley will do it on incredible terms I reckon. The cash pinch its in is because management pushed growth too fast too soon, but it's RNS shows business is there to grab once it gets over this

They've already said in RNS that the Tier 1 OEM Automotive chip would be worth towards £100m per year. Now we know that Musk's involved it all starts to make sense.

"During H1 2023 and immediately post period end, the Company continued to deliver live ASIC projects in line with its expectations and, as announced by Sondrel on 3 July 2023, the Company successfully completed the second key milestone in respect of the material turnkey ASIC engagement for a Tier 1 OEM Automotive customer - with corresponding milestone payments received by the Group from the customer. As stated at the time of the Company's IPO, Sondrel expects typical production volumes for each contract to deliver revenue of GBP10m to GBP100m per annum and the contract with the Tier 1 OEM Automotive customer could deliver production revenue at the upper end of this range."
