im guessing the management team are allocating a budget to their fat cat Xmas bonus pot!!! What a gravy train this has turned out to be for the management team at least!!!!!

...cos over the 2-3 years the co has been generating cash there are decades of evidence to prove management will grab it for themselves :)

Whatever cash gets thrown off here I doubt that the shareholders (myself included) will see any of it.

So they are targeting another 1350bbd to early 2023 from Meseda, at a netback of around $40pb. So that?s another $19m of cash flow pa, or $9.5m to SDX @ 50% holding. Interesting :)

Well I think that Peel Hunt have a pretty good idea about SDX actual operations and their opinion is that the Egyptian oil assets at West Gharib are SDX most valuable asset, alone worth 12 pence per share now. Their model takes no account of future drilling success here (programme just started) which will be sold at prevailing prices and their oil price assumptions are $65 per barrel going out to 2023 which now seems very conservative since they are already $85. Nevertheless despite these conservative forward projections Peel Hunt predict SDX to have a Free Cash Flow of $21m per year by 2022 and possible dividends or share buy backs which will boost the share price further.
Seems like the management are not performing too badly to me. True, most energy companies are seeing a huge windfall of cash, it is just that the share price of SDX has yet to reflect this.

LOL. they benefit from the oil/gas price increase. SDX produces FIXED PRICE GAS in Egypt and Morocco. Only a small amount of oil in Egypt. It seems most people commenting on this stock have no idea about its actual operations.

It seemed unfairly smashed when the oil price got smashed last year given the above, but to be honest the company and management have performed poorly too.

You might be right Gazza but most of my oil and gas producing stocks like Genel, BP, San Leon, Savannah, Equinor are all up around 50% in a year and maybe around fair value where SDX is down 40% im the year and around a third of fair value according to 4 analysts. I do not see justification for that and expect it to correct. Perhaps you can suggest other producing oil companies with similar discount to fair value. I would be genuinely interested.

You can take your pick of a few oil stocks in the same boat. The question is, is this a better one than the rest, I am not sure it is.

According to the analyst reports most of the gas is supplied to customers at long term fixed prices so there will not be a big boost from existing customers in the short term. Nevertheless those prices were good and are bringing in loads of cash which will improve further as contracts get renegotiated or extended. However there is a world energy shortage causing even China to curb production. This means new customers will be falling over themselves to secure supplies in a seller's market. The drill bits are turning and new fully funded low cost wells are expected to pay for themselves in less than a year with new increased output and a pipeline infrastructure largely in place. It has been a painful two years for investors but it looks like we are well past the lows with rosier times ahead.

Looks like you are right ashkv. It is good to have access to analysts reports which are very conservative but nevertheless all reckon they are significantly undervalued by a factor of at least three. And that takes no account of fully funded drilling to boost production for sale into very buoyant oil and gas markets. No debt, great cash flow, Increasing production, cheap on all metrics, good website. Looks a clear buy to me. I have just topped up.So why are you so critical of management?Xylos

Good news 12 more drills should push the share price up massively if they all come in very low cost for the return at these sky high gas prices which at some point will be renegotiated to reflect the market riseAnd gains in Morocco should push this to true value of around 30p

updates have never been good for the widow maker... they are generally followed by sharp falls in the share price.. probably as the market has lost faith in ever seeing any distributions... the management seem hellbent on squandering endless millions on CAPEX which never accretes value for the shareholders... it does however power their gravy train, which is not only comfortable but highly profitable.. (for the lucky ones who got a ticket to ride)...
