Good solid progress but expectations - probably unrealistic ones - were not quite reached.
The retrace was probably assisted by the hitting of some trailing stops but it's good to see market balance has returned above 900p. I continue to hold the majority after a modest recent top-slice.

Positive wording in the statement, not sure if investors are going to expect more based on the share price having doubled from last year and at pretty much all time highs.As a long term hold it looks good although price has got a little ahead of itself given a PE of c22.5 is high for a company producing these sorts of components when growth is at a decent but modest 10-15%. My concern is with supply dynamics at the moment and potential for a large fall if there is any bad news as was seen a few years ago.Sold my position but will certainly be monitoring it in future for either an ahead trading update or an attractive reentry point. Good luck to current holders, is a solid little company.

Results in about 2 weeks and I think we can expect some impressive numbers and outlook, so wouldn't be surprised to see further buying ahead of results.

This is the sort of share price performance one may find in software companies but less commonly in electronic hardware. Is something else afoot?

Nearly 3 weeks to results (13th July) and it's having another go at cracking the 900p ceiling. Results are actually a little later than anticipated (by me anyway). Sometimes this can be bad news which seems unlikely in this case, but there have been reports that auditors have been straining to keep up in the covid environment or just possibly there could be expectation of further news in the intervening period.

Another earnings upgrade; having to issue an upgrade for the year ending on 31st March so soon after the last one on 22nd February.

Having another go at making a new high this morning.
I can't see any specific reason but perhaps it will become clear later. The string of moderate buys, generally £2k -£6k range, could indicate it has been tipped somewhere

This company is a little gem.
I 'discovered' it in late 2019, not long before covid and was a bit worried how it would fare. It has not disappointed and I have added since. Otherwise, most of my recent investments have been in digital, software or medical situations which generally did well through 2020 and I have avoided hardware companies with a couple of exceptions (e.g. having a medical connection.)
Market rotation since the new year has been towards potential recovery stocks, many of which I suspect won't, and it's difficult to choose the winners. However, those that have survived virtually unscathed or have retained strong reserves should do well in picking up distressed bargains. SOLI is well to the top of this list and is helping to offset a slight sag in the software-heavy part of my portfolio.
