Excitement is IMO justified. The 500 X 400 metre "halo" site has been identified after an intensive exploration effort. Mineralisation is on the surface.

Taking the Fathom geophysics depth of 500 metres gives a block of potentially mineralised rock of 100,000,000 cubic metres. Assume 2.5 tonnes of rock per cubic metre gives 250,000,000 tonnes of rock. Assume mineralisation of 0.5% copper equivalent per tonne: 1.25m tonnes of copper equivalent.

The mineralisation may extend beyond the confines of the halo or it may be more sporadic within the halo. The grade may be higher or lower. But 1.25 million tonnes would be a good start given the size of the La Hueca concession.

Let's see what the drill tells us in the coming weeks.

FWIW, I'm happy that the news flow has commenced and agree with some of the other posters, if they follow their previous RNS model, we will get separate announcements for each site, sometimes on the same day. I don't think today's announcement has any price implications but by generating interest, we might get some new investors.Looks like any plan for drilling will remain secret.

Tomorrow we will have the Porvenir update to go alongside the quarterly MD&A update required for the Canadian market and the end of year results.
Exited to see how far about a month of drilling at Porvenir has got us - should have at least one hole to final depth and if any good some visuals.

RNS 18/10/16

Commenting on the development, CEO Mr Nick Mather said:

"We are very pleased to have the combined benefits of significant experience at Cascabel from Hubbard Drilling, and the global back-up and capability of Major Drilling. Hubbard Drilling's performance to date at Cascabel has been impressive, drilling holes to a depth of approximately 2000 metres with a man portable rig."

Lowtrawler . Thats the problem we have to guess at whats going on . We could be drilling at Porvenir ..we might get an Rns on Monday ..

Its all speculation

Just like when NM said he wont be raising funds at this low level and then raised them .

Call me a cynic but a one man portable drilling rig should not have taken over a month to be used. It appears to me that they they are making very slow progress and sent in the portable drilling rig so they could say drilling had commenced when they had been hoping for more substantial progress at Porvenir.

Rp, the problem is everything you have extracted was previously known and published. The only new information in the RNS is:Drilling operations underway at La Hueca Project utilising one man-portable drill rig. Initial drill hole LHD-20-001 at current depth of 91m. This hole is designed to test depth extent of outcropping porphyry copper-gold-molybdenum mineralisation at Santos-Lindero Zone, La Hueca Target 6.

Must say I'm surprised by some of the negative reaction to this RNS.

What it tells me is that they have permission to drill 11 holes to a depth of 500 metres from 4 different platforms: hence the initial plan to drill 5,500 metres. The Fathom geophysics showed that the mineralisation found on the surface could extend down to 500 metres. The night shift photo is also of note. The target area of 500 X 400 metres is also substantial.

If the drill results are positive, it will show they have discovered a near surface deposit which could lend itself to open pit mining that is far less costly than deep underground mining.

Previously, Solg have issued separate, consecutive RNSs for each prospective site and I expect this to happen again to maximise impact. So roll on the Porvenir RNS.

As others have suggested, the virus threat is real, imposes constraints and I'm sure Solg are taking every precaution to minimise the risks.

At rhe moment the market is down so no pleasing quite a few people at the moment . Lets hope there are more people out there who are pleased and buy the shares so the Sp can go up .I guess the helicoptor 6 weeks ago made a mistake and dropped the rig at the wrong place .

I see it as just the first little offering of fresh news after a very long period of no news. I expect to see a regular news flow from now going forward, to flesh out the scale and quality of some of the prospects.

Maybe my industrial experience has made me cynical. But of these 'disruptions' I can guarantee most companies are just using COVID as a smoke screen. As others have said here, it just seems a lack of clarity. For what reason I am not sure, because in this climate you could want to be throwing coal into the oven. Off topic, so I will leave it there. But money talks, indeed. We leave it in NM's capable hands I guess.

As MK says, a better RNS would have been SOLG are pleased to announce start of our next phase of exploratory drilling. The first drill....., Over the next 4 weeks, we expect... By X date we expect to have X drills in place at la Hueca, X drills at Porvenir etc.

Dear half empty crew, NM has done well so far and achieved amazing assets which at some point will be monetised. Just be patient for a few more months and save all your
moaning for Christmas when if nothing has happened or no clarity achieved I might just join you.

MK

I think a lot of people clearly disagree with your comments this morning judging by the high level of AT trades as well as good solid O purchases.

Still early though but good volume.

Can’t argue with that.

At least it keeps your stalker off your back as you’re a step away from 28p LOL.

C19 disrupted the whole world, I'm seeing delays across the board from nigh on every company, people need to cut some slack when a pandemic is sweeping the Globe. The resource isn't going away.

Arcadian, the problem is investors have been left to guess what they are doing and how quickly with regards to exploration. They have never published a plan. They recommenced exploration just over a month ago and so it is probably entirely reasonable they have only just commenced drilling at one site. However, we know they had already built drilling platforms at Porvenir. In my mind, this gave them a head start. As a result, I am disappointed at progress.

Markets are often impatient. I too want to be richer now.

Ø The Target 6 discovery is significant due to mineralisation features indicative of large porphyry systems- secondary biotite and chlorite-sericite hydrothermal alteration intensity, and the presence of chalcopyrite, molybdenite and bornite. A- and B-type quartz veins are also present at variable density. These features are evident at depth at Alpala and encouragingly outcrop at La Hueca 6.

Ø Target 6 defined by strong copper, gold and diagnostic molybdenum anomalism over a large area 1.25km by 1 km.
