Middelkoop has just tweeted saying it was good work but not enough change to restore confidence.

Absolutely.

It was also interesting to see that Cornerstone was active on twitter yesterday without specific corporate news which is unusual for them with no mention on the arguements around the takeover (OK OK they have the numbers to reject...) but it was pro-active messaging - how good Alpala is and it has been endorsed by the likes of FNV despite their previous robust feelings on that "deal" etc.

Now if some of the on-line ("professional" rather than invisible keyboard "titans") antagonists remain below the twitter parapet (Warren Irwin/Willem Middelkoop etc), then clearly something is happening with the honest brokers (Citi etc) knocking heads together -

"peace in our times"?

(though maybe not!..............)

Thanks pob, I think today's announcement is interesting because it partly addresses the question marks raised by CGP on the SOLG Corporate Governance structure but also shows director commitment to SOLG over their other business interests. The linked-in comments are an indication that other stakeholders (presumably BHP, Newcrest and Blackrock) have approved the changes being made. This will make it more likely the CGP requisitioned meeting will fizzle out.

It's good to see the price strength today and fingers crossed we don't retrace.

From Stockhouse last night...

"“Equipped with gold, silver and copper

SolGold (TSX: SOLG) is a prime example of a commodity company that is almost certainly going to be taken over or make a lot of money in the coming years. SolGold has explored 10% of the world's newly discovered gold in the last ten years alone. In addition, management believes that the company is well positioned with its explored copper deposits in Ecuador. In other words, the company is sitting on several great treasures.

The market value is currently still trading well below the billion dollar mark, although SolGold already holds 13 promising projects. To date the company has defined a copper-gold deposit of 21.7 million ounces of gold, 9.9 million tonnes of copper and 92.2 million ounces of silver on the Alpala project. Based on published studies to date, Alpala's average NPV is USD 4.4 billion, after capital development costs of USD 2.7 billion, an IRR of 25.9% and a payback period of 4 years. The mine life is projected to be 55 years. Against this background, the company is an excellent acquisition target for a large producer who wants to build something in Ecuador and not start from scratch. “

"...The outcome of various discussions with key stakeholders and the beginning of a continuous improvement process to make SolGold best in class"

"...Very pleased to see this news which is the culmination of Board strategy work, listening to our stakeholders and making good on commitments on our improvement journey."

ArcadianSolg have an asset which is potentially worth a lot but they have no means with which to tap that potential currently.........Ignore the Mather BS about companies throwing funding at them and then he signs up to a deal at 12 percent interest.Newcrest look like they are leaving it to BHP and unless another company get involved this isnt going back into the 40s anytime soon.A GE loss for the government could upset the whole Apple cart, but rampers like Mknight refuse to open their eyes and that's why he bought at the current price, before the placing, which was blindingly obvious was going to happen.

DD Yes we do live in different worlds except for me it is not mythical.

We cannot ignore the price rises of our assets and the individual contributions will be part of the composite outlay and return.

Lets wait for the PFS although but since your cup is always half empty I`m sure that you will find a way to reduce the NPV to a minus quantity so that we all owe NM.

When you sit back and analyse todays's RNS....It does answer some of CGP concerns.....Moller as Chairman, close to NM,both resigning from some Boards, NM with all his diverse interests etc.etc....they are getting onto the front foot ....to ensure they do not lose an EGM or to ensure one is not called....or could there be a rapprochement with CGP...

Nonsense Arcadian (Arcady is a mythical paradise of course) . I suppose you'll be extracting the silver first ! In any case, the value of silver to be mined is about 1.5% (sorry corrected - Its 3%) that of gold, let alone of the higher value of copper. That means its NPV is less than 1.5% of the total. ie worth only about $100bn or 3.5% the capital cost.

Gold might not be doing much for the share price, but it must make Solg far more attractive to financiers.

The silver alone would cover the capital outlay leaving the gold and copper for free.
