As we all know the fate of Solgold lies with the II`s, but not entirely correct, as charlieeee and other posters suggest that BHP hold all the aces in this poker game. I would suggest otherwise, they only hold 13.6% at this point and to suggest that other II`s would automatically follow BHP is erroneous. Why would Newcrest and others automatically throw in their hand with BHP, they might if the bid is ridiculously high. Different institutions have different agendas, some would be happy to play a long game and extract full value from Solgold by seeing it through to independent producer, others will want to make a quick buck and move on. In the event of a split in institutional support the balance of power may well be in the hands of PI`s and for this reason, should a bid materialize, I would urge all PI`s to vote, hopefully to get behind NM and BOD.

It's pretty clear that the Newcrest relationship is dead (dog in a manger) and they also want Nick out. They can't achieve it without BHP. If BHP don't play ball, they could launch a bid but more likely will dump their shares. CGP will likely have to give their shares to SOLG and then wind up. BHP are the key.

Cornerstone (up 5%) not exactly keeping up with Solg's price (up 25%) since June. Might get to a point where it might want to reconsider its rejection. (unless its privvy to the games 'possibly' being played - with some other motive)

Gold taking off again .. could we takeout 2000 this week ? Probably asking too much but you never know.

Probably not: the vultures are homing in on the whole company.

Just adding up BHP input to date, it is just shy of £95 million for their current stake in the company at 33.75p per share (by my calculations).

That compares with their first offer of $30 million for 10% of Solg and $275 million to earn in 70% of Cascabel back in 2016.

When rejected , they went after the Goldfields stake of Solg at 26p.

They may well not have been pleased to pay 45p for the next tranche, but have carried on adding: difficult to see that they would give up now after stalking for 4 years.

Would NM have been better off taking that offer and using the $30 million to explore for the next Alpala? So many variables, not least, what happens in October when BHP are free to renew their proposals!

It was interesting how NM ducked the questions on drilling . By saying he was not sure if or when or where drilling had started .
