600 million sounds super cheap for a tier 1 proven up deposit. It would be nice if plat hunter could name 1 or 2 other tier one deposits that are cheaper as I would like to buy them.

happy New year too Evo..

I'm not invested in the story here, either emotionally or otherwise. I just happen to think it's way way over valued and considering the mcap I'd rather wait until a correction and wait for a base to set in.
,
I don't think it's a great company for speculating, due to the sheer mcap, it's not a great company for investing as their is no tangible assets producing investment returns, anywhere.

It's a good company for trading perhaps.. it's quite volatile and has great volume. I suspect many people here are actually trading it instead of flat out holding.

Personally I think 35p is a test here, there's been recent support at 35 but a drop below could indicate a reversal. All in my own view of course, I'm watching several new babies to perhaps rotate my JLP profits into.

Here's to our first year of company wide profit eh?

Like I say Plat, do some research into the story here. It’s quite compelling.

For full disclosure I hold both SOLG and JLP.

Anyway, A Happy New Year to You and Yours Plats.

Cheers.

Always..The key and ironic word there in your statement is HAVE.. and not will. You will always find something that people HAVE made money on. Like your example I HAVE also made money on JLP but also like you say, not so much in 2018.Try to be balanced Always and not just butt hurt defensive for your own holdings.Fact is that this has already made people their gains. The is absolutely no reason why a company that doesn't produce anything should be valued at 600 million.

Yet here you are Plats reading the SOLG board! Ironic that. Perhaps your here seeing what you might be missing out on?

Let’s face it. Investors in SOLG have made a shed load more over the last couple of years than say investors in JLP for example.

You don’t seem to understand why SOLG has the valuation that it does as you keep referencing them not producing any gold?

You should do some research mate. Newcrest and BHP don’t own 26% of it because they think it’s overvalued.

Richard if you want to invest in gold companies that don't produce any gold but still valued at half the mcap of CEY or a tenth of the Londonds biggest gold producing listing RRS then you should invest here.

If you want a straight forward gold investment look at AAZ, debt free and producing over 80,000oz a year with an all in cost per ounce of $550. Pays out 25% of free cash flow as a dividend, approx 6% yield at current price, very competent management. It's as cheap as chips.

RichardJohn10 I'd start by looking at the MRE2 released a few weeks back. There are lots of youtube/videos around and I'd look at one - say Nick Mather's webcast from end November. PEA is due in a month or so which will be big news whatever it says. I'd also look at Hannam's initiation and subsequent reports on SOLG as well as RedCloud and other reports. They'll give you good background.

It is perhaps stating the obvious, but most of the information you might need can be found on the Company's web site.

Interesting article on 2019 copper plays including $SOLG $SOLG.L Solgold $CGP #ecuador

SolGold
Market Cap: £684m ($865m)

The most coveted copper company of 2018 was Australian explorer SolGold: with 2bn tonnes grading 0.6 per cent copper at its Alpala project in Ecuador, BHP and Newcrest are both vying for first place on the share register. But chief executive Nick Mather also has 11 other targets in the country that he plans to test in 2019, positioning himself at the forefront of a rush by the industry into Ecuador.

Will the company be independent this time next year? “The nature of the moon is that it has phases and tides that come in against you and eventually go out and carry you with them,” Mather recently told Kitco News. “SolGold is going to be the world's next great integrated explorer, developer and producer for both copper and gold.”

Interesting or indeed not that SOLG tweeted the IC takeover tip article from last week. Is that a harbinger? We shall see

Treading water until we see the economics of the project. May get the odd shake down but should be temporary. Cant see much of a move up until those numbers are known and the excitiement can return.

I should think we have a couple of weeks at least before any worthwhile news ODR, no point in putting out news whilst the movers and shakers are still on the ski slopes.
