So what price would BHP need to pay for ALPALA 1.20-1.50 should keep everyone happy .As long as SOLG keeps the 11 sites .

The newcrest news is definitely positive and would be an expected move in the take over chess. It underlines that it is the end game.

However the US sell off undermines the confidence here.

Not sure BHP will like that fact that Newcrest has taken another bite? BHP still have another 2or3% they can take up before hitting their agreed limit, however I still feel it’s going to be BHP that come in with the two finger salute take out offer and feel it might happen sooner than later?

Maybe Newcrest thinking the same re BHP so they are upping their stake while they are still able?

Just IMO and all that.

Jerry not so sure we had a seller other than the traders the volume has been low for a long time . We will no doubt see in the next few days an rns clearing the guess work .

It appears so MK. I would have thought this news would rate as pretty interesting and a lot more so than where the CU or AU price is etc etc. It also should have more significance than anything in the IC as they have been bullish SOLG for a long time.
However quite timely that IC say the share is a t/o target and the same day the biggest s/holder tops up....

But for those who thought the share price was being manipulated lower, well now we know. There was a large seller!!

Not much interest here in Solg . Most that post are currently out waiting for the share price to drop under 35p before buying back .Not my idea but everyone is free to do what they have to do . The 3 per cent purchase at 40p is great news and takes another chunk out from weak holders hands . Maybe they like Blanca y Nieve as they are more into gold than copper .

Certainly think SOLG would be tipped by others for 2019.

For some reason I am not seeing anything posted on this BB about the Newcrest purchase of 27.8myn shares at 40p from unnamed third parties.
Its all over the LSE site for those who want to catch up. Apologies if it is here but I don't see it.

Arcadian .. I lost interest immediately when I saw the hyperlink has "CNBC" in it !

They are either clueless or directed to continue with the positive narrative to keep the BUBBLE inflated.

If you have CNBC just watch from 8-9pm UK time, and watch them roll out nothing but guests who just repeat "This is a buying opportunity" .. there has to be an excuse or a positive for a negative for every move down.

For example, last week consumer credit levels ballooned ... but this is a positive sign the economy is booming. LOL

Dunno about you but if the economy was that good people would be paying off their balance.... why would you run a balance knowing you are being hit with huge int rates. Could it be they are finding things tighter and tighter ?

The analyst said "There is nothing on the horizon to suggest a recession" ... they were saying the same just before the 2008 Financial Crisis !

mknight Let's hope for news from Blanca y Nieve soon. Didn't know about the security - a good sign. Gold income should reduce funding requirements and hopefully the PEA will at least give us some useful ballpark figures to work on.

Thanks pob69 - good info. Looks like the Rainforest organisation has been around for about 35+years. Cascabel not close to protected forest areas but some other concessions look a bit closer. Nothing is risk-free but important to balance this against the really positive engagement from Nick, Jason and SOLG in Ecuador as well as the positive mood music from the politicians. BHP don't have the same shiny image in S America so not sure a complete takeover would go down as well as SOLG continuing in some way with development after exploration. Looking for a positive RNS this week.

Thanks for the info .

It seems that all the team are aware that one mistake with the Ecuadorian community could cause a massive problem .AT the moment and hopefully in the future they are doing everything to improve the lives of the Ecuadorian people which has been noted by the Ecuadorian minister. This is a big plus for Solgold .

Blanca y Nieve is the one i am waiting for . NM and team know what they have there at it must be out of this world for him to say with confidence that this will finance Alpala . Exciting times ahead ,they have already put security on guard which says it all.
The market is going to get a massive surprise when they start drilling .
