On the contrary Mknight, BHP are locked OUT of buying more shares for two years without SOLG approval (over and above 13% I believe which means they are at liberty to take a further 2% or so if they wish to do so)

They are permitted to make a full offer at any time however.

No, they are blocked from making a hostile takeover.

Are BHP not locked into buying further shares in their last agreement with SOLG.

The obvious conclusion to draw would be that BHP see no benefit atm by being represented. So they are not interested in being insiders to the news but prefer the flexibility to buy (or sell though unlikely) shares w/o restriction.
I guess they also don’t want to influence the direction of the company as they are quite happy with that. All imho naturellement!

Yes why do you think that would be .?

What we can agree on is that there is no board member from BHP!

First mover advantage. No one else was interested in Ecuador at the time following a questionable period of ogvernment that was unfriendly towards mining. SOLG took an educated risk and it paid off handsomely.

NO reason to hold back good news currently on SOLG unless NM is wanting to buy more shares himself. Otherwise he wants and needs the share price higher. Everything is easier for him with a higher share price that wouldnt leave him at the risk of a low ball offer. He's know that for some time now. He was bullish at the back end of 2017 with the MRE and priomises that there would be quarterly updates that would lok to double the resource. He could never provide these but felt it necessary to help protect the share price. Nothing has changed. He has always been bullish and never held good news back. Only news he held back was teh disappoiting Aquinaga results last year.

There are more than 1 incentive to hold back the regionals that I can think of which means there's loads of reasons .

Lets put this another way . How did we manage to get 11 priority sites in the first place .

Not how the board would work. THis isnt a 2 bit operation anymore. This is a FTSE listed £700M company. Newcrest and BHP put memebers on teh board to make sure they are abreast of all develpments. This isnt NM wandering about the sites and just picking up rocks. If it was then fine it would be kept secret from those two companies but I doubt the results would be a compelling reason to invest!

I'm fully aware that companies can delay results or hold back on potential news until there are more favourable market conditions but invariably the board as a whole know this. What looks like happened at AMER. THere was a large seller about to so no board memeber was willnig to buy shares and good results seem to have ben held back. Seller clears and suddenly they have better flow rates and the directors buy a large wadge.

THere is no incentive for NM to hold back good news. He wants it out there to encourage toakeovers at a sensible price. He wants/needs to price up as much as possible

If NM wanted to keep them from his wife he could do so . Newcrest or any other would be as simple as can be . Stick the results in the draw until you need them . This is business and unfortunately most do not play fair .

NO point keeping the results from teh market and also illegal. ALl material result must be reported. If he wants to keep them hidden from teh big boys then he'l fail since they each have a board memeber now.

We dont have the site results yet becasue NM has nothing to report on them yet. I want them to simply mintain focus on gettign PEA out there timely.

Nice to see copper showing a bit more sterwgth today

Well looks like to some it is starting to kick in that this is a stupid price never to be repeated barring problems with the Government. So off we go to 60p options . How nice .

Alwaysvolving.

I do not see NM selling the entire company if the assets are as good as he says they are. He has 42 techs running around 11 sites he must know alot more than he has annouced be it good or bad .We have had only one poxy update on these sites since June last year Why?

Answer ... He does not want anyone to know what he has got because if we don't know then the multi nationals don't know .

Alpala I think he would be happy with 2 pounds so we will need the PEA out as no one will pay that money without it .

All guess work based on knowing nothing of 10 of the 11 regionals .

You would get more money for a one off rather than something you have 12 of if you get my drift .

Assuming you mean for the entire company, at what price do you foresee a takeover Mknight?

Interested to hear your (and others) opinion on this. If an offer was made for the entire company it would have to be very substantial imo to get NMs attention?

The ask was still loaded with sells today. Seemed to just be a low volume day so not much for a seller to sell into. Usually it is the demand days or news days where they take the opportunity to offload.
