19/11/2020 16:57 | That's a fair point Huncher, but the Pound has a long history to get where it is, and is backed by the BoE. Bitcoin seems not to be backed by anyone except the person who created it, and he's not telling us who he is. In an era when money is being 'created' at such a rate that printing machines and supplies of paper couldn't keep up with it, one wonders at what point trust will collapse? Hence some of us have become gold bugs! :¬) | ![]() lefrene

19/11/2020 16:34 | zoros1, I know that the 'coins' are 'mined' by machines having to complete highly complex calculations, and that the calculations become increasingly harder to complete, thus limiting the supply of this non existent thing. This occupies many computers consuming huge amounts of power, although I've yet to hear any 'greenies' complaining about this waste of resources. So nothing real is being mined, nothing real is being stored, although this non existent 'thing' is being accepted by some as currency. My understanding is that the thing only exists in the minds of believers. | ![]() lefrene

19/11/2020 15:33 | I don't know about anyone else, but I find Bitcoin doesn't give me the sense of reality that gold does. No one seems to know who created Bitcoin (Bill Gates?), but presumably the creator could add more 'coins' to his own account at will, or even just switch the whole thing off? | ![]() lefrene

19/11/2020 13:23 | Browsed through the solg 2020 Annual Report this am. I was a bit surprised when I looked at the table on P38, which says their concentrate had 32% silver! They clearly need a proof reader as their table is one out between the element names and the concentrations. Hope they don't file the wrong numbers on SEDAR. Its an interesting report because it reminds you that they still have things going on in Australia (6 sites) and the Solomon Islands (the drill program at Kuma was scheduled for mid-2020 but covid has postponed it). I thought that was all dead and buried. It dates to mid-September so no hot news there, but I thought SOLG had more than enough prospects in Ecuador, let alone try to keep these other ones going. | ![]() noccer
