16/11/2020 17:57 | MD&A reports now out SOLG $SOLG $SOLG.L #porvenir #cascabel #ecuador $CGP Rio drilling starting in Dec Blanca started 20/10 Alpala PFS - "PFS is well advanced" but I cannot see publishing target? La Hueca - Two holes have been completed for 1,149m. This in bold sounds confident; "....The reconnaissance programs have demonstrated the presence of porphyry copper gold or epithermal gold style mineralisation in all 14 of the 100% owned granted SolGold priority regional project areas throughout the length of Ecuador, which is an unprecedented outcome. Panned gold, magnetite and outcropping mineralisation are testament to the world class potential of all the SolGold project areas." | ![]() pob69
16/11/2020 17:24 | Lowtrawler I am sure they have NOT suspended La Hueca its just they have not as yet found what they were looking for so i expect an update which will explain what they have found . They may have some great grades but are patchy . The same could be said of Blanca .i am sure ww will know soon . Nice finish suggests maybe something in the pipeline . | ![]() mknight
16/11/2020 17:08 | Silence is golden, Arcadian, but my eyes still see. The Four Seasons.Thought it was the Moody Blues for some reason until corrected by Mrs H.Nice finish. | ![]() husbod
16/11/2020 16:32 | I agree that they seem tardy, at times inconsiderate and even negligent but we don`t seem to be able to change that. We seem to learn more from the silences and even late surges as per today. Is something brewing? PS look at the book trades in the last half hour. I shall be an early bird in the morning. | ![]() arcadian
16/11/2020 16:16 | Arcadian, in simple terms. SOLG issued an RNS to announce drilling commenced at La Hueca. If they had to suspend drilling, that was worthy of public comment, if not an RNS. They committed in an RNS to commence drilling at Rio Amarillo by the end of October. If they couldn't achieve that, it was worthy of public comment. They have, at least, issued public documents showing the PFS being delayed, but have not explained why. None of these niggles are big by themselves but they are part of a pattern which is continually repeated. Under promise and over deliver should be the catchphrase. If they can adopt that approach, I'm convinced it will lead to a higher share price caused by improved confidence in management delivery. | ![]() lowtrawler
16/11/2020 16:02 | There was once a song to the effect that silence is golden ( and possibly for us copper )and that someone would be the last to know. It sums up our situation 1 we don`t know and the AGM doesn`t enlighten us. 2 conjecture therefore is a waste of time 3 we will get to know at some point Until then we must wait, hope and be patient especially re POR. | ![]() arcadian
16/11/2020 15:52 | I have a very low tolerance for missed deadlines. In my view, if they have publicly stated they will deliver something by a certain date, they should publicly announce if those dates have to move and why. Their track record on meeting deadlines is appalling and we have lapsed into causal acceptance. Similarly, if they had to suspend drilling at La Hueca, they should have said so and given the reason. | ![]() lowtrawler
16/11/2020 15:39 | MK, I thought the Q3 report on La Hueca was trying to claim they hadn't drilled an extra metre for over a month. Pretty hard to believe. They have already said they will publish outline financing alongside the PFS. Frankly, it is only the outline funding which I expect to impact the price and so if they park that for PFS only, I'm not going to be happy. | ![]() lowtrawler
16/11/2020 15:03 | 6. Would be interesting. 1. Has not started yet . 2. In the Q3 report . 3. A little better . 4. Yes this week . 5. Not sure any funding will be before DFS . NM probably wants to keep his options open . | ![]() mknight
16/11/2020 14:59 | We know from past discussions it is possible to successfully argue any price from 50p-500p; to argue for the Chinese, Barrick, BHP, Newcrest or any number of other players as the successful bidder; that the bid will happen tomorrow, next year or never. There will be ample time to consider bids if and when they happen. In the meantime: 1. Why has there been no Rio Amarillo drilling commenced announcement yet? Over 2 weeks late. 2. Everything on La Hueca is still silent, why? 3. Further assays must be due in the next few days for Porvenir hole 1. Does anyone expect these to be fundamentally different from the assays to date? 4. They must be over 1200m into Porvenir Hole 2 and so hopefully an update this week (or will they wait for early next week at 1500m). How will this impact price? 5. PFS / Funding could be released at any point. What impact do folks expect from this? 6. Identifying satellite mines for Alpala. Does anyone expect exploration announcements for the Cascabel concession? | ![]() lowtrawler
16/11/2020 14:46 | mknight, I doubt BHP can take the risk of losing access to very large, very economic metal resources. No doubt earnest bean counter young men are currently providing their BHP masters with 'what if' scenarios on a daily, if not hourly basis right now. Perhaps now is not the time to dither? | ![]() lefrene
16/11/2020 14:44 | I am contemplating buying some more at the moment. I just think with news expected, we could swiftly be back in the 40s again. | ![]() jarega85
16/11/2020 14:42 | Husbod . Peeps that have sold today are probably seeing the banks up again and fear they might mis a 3% pop . Unfortunatly they should have stayed and had a 100% pop in Solgold . Gold already has turned around and is positive today . Copper at 325 . Nasdaq up as well .. not like last Monday .. | ![]() mknight
16/11/2020 14:41 | There's also this going on, the Chinese putting in place the infrastructure to have a gold back yuan for international trade. Back in 2016 they anticipate displacing a debauched US dollar with a gold backed and therefore trusted international Yuan. I would guess that the fallout from the repo-market stalling in Sept 2019, came as no surprise to them. | ![]() lefrene
16/11/2020 14:34 | Yep, would welcome Chinese involvement if it spurred a western mega miner to make a knock out bid so to that extent let them play. | ![]() husbod
16/11/2020 14:33 | Nice 262,818 buy. Surprised it didn't shift the share price a bit. | ![]() husbod
16/11/2020 14:26 | Lefrene can BHP take the risk ? If they want to stay a major force they have to buy us and very soon imho . Many have made mistakes in the past . But if the Chinese get the likes of Solgold then they wont need BHP in the future . So we sit back and know that we will make a fortune in the share sooner or later . | ![]() mknight
16/11/2020 14:25 | Political posturing!!! Pathetic!!! In the real world "Might is right" In the world of commerce "Money is right" I have no doubt that if the Chinese were persuaded of the value of Solgold`s Ecuador operations in total, they would be perfectly happy to pay £5 per share to acquire Solgold in its entirety, its only £10 billion for many decades of secure supply, cheap at twice the price. Remember that whatever Chinese company or entity we are dealing with, if the matter is deemed to be of national interest to China, then you will in fact be dealing with the government of China, so money is no object. Secure supply of copper is most certainly a matter of great concern for China, just look at their infrastructure plans for the next five years, all highly dependent on adequate supply of copper, not to mention the rising price of copper. Count, who lives in China, will be able to give some interesting first hand insight into how the Chinese think and do business. | ![]() tibszol1
16/11/2020 14:24 | Just topped up in case I have to start learning Cantonese. | ![]() husbod
16/11/2020 14:18 | Imagine that, the big boys getting squeezed out by the Chinese, I suspect the likes of BHP are very aware of such a scenario, and the recent Chinese block on Oz for having the temerity to want an enquiry into the origins of the virus, must be concentrating hearts and minds. If China got control of a very large source of metals, the rest of the world would soon see that China is no charity. So who knows, could we see a bid very soon to secure this very long term valuable asset, or will the game just drag on for a few more years? | ![]() lefrene
16/11/2020 14:08 | 5 billion is 2.50 a share and quite possible in the future . Its a race , can we prove them up before an acceptable bid comes in . Its really up to the likes of BHP to stop the Chines buying us up . If they want to protect their future they need to buy us if they dont and the Chinese buy us then BHP and the likes donot have a future . Can NM manage to keep us out of the hands of the BHP,s and the Chinese . Difficult . | ![]() mknight |
