03/2/2019 21:16 | The dividend plan will be announced with the results on 6th March. I see no reason why it would be less than the 5.25p last year, though I do think they could move to start paying it in two stages - so eg a full year div of 4p and an interim div of 2p, total 6p. It would be good to see deal completion by then too. | emptyend
03/2/2019 17:59 | Waste of time Dundee. He's dense. | nigelpm
03/2/2019 17:53 | Alamaison for Christ sake it's not the mm's that keep this company "undervalued" it's the market that they merely provide a service to??!! | dunderheed
03/2/2019 17:35 | doe's anyone have access to what the dividend is likely to be this year? | 3800
01/2/2019 15:51 | Look at OPHR. MMs were trading it at under its real value for at least a year. 50% discount... It shows you how easy it is for them the overvalue/undervalue whatever share they like. They also keep selling share they don't even own. Like today... Watch that UT trade if they don't start buying now. These O trade will put them in trouble. 13,000, 10,000, 6,000 x 2, 4,000 etc... They already are 30,000 shares short for the UT trade. You'll see... | alamaison5
01/2/2019 15:38 | Makes my sale at 5.72 in Nov 07 look remarkably well timed. Of course, it was only about 10% of my holding, and I've bought them all back, and more besides, at £4, £3, £2, etc, etc. :-) StepOne | stepone68
01/2/2019 15:25 | I love these selective "memories". The shares spent a grand total of 2 days in 20 years above £23.60 pre-split (£5.90 post split) and never traded higher than £23.95 even intraday.Furthermore | emptyend
01/2/2019 14:02 | Let’s hope so..I imagine once the Merlin deal is complete & we are still sitting low then maybe somebody will make a move. Our CEO is 75 years of age..his enthusiasm must be dwindling just like our SP!! | 0rient
01/2/2019 13:56 | SIA: Will end-up like OPHR. Low ball bid. 100p to 120p... | alamaison5
01/2/2019 11:41 | Good grief! What's going on here? I remember when these used to be c£24 each. Even allowing for the 4:1 split they've still lost almost 90% of their value! Fossil fuels are out of favour for good it seems now so there would seem to be a danger that these could still plummet from here IMHO. | brick tycoon
31/1/2019 21:16 | I'd be interested in your opinion GG. I'm personally not put off by decomm. They have a brilliant g&g head honcho imho. | dunderheed
31/1/2019 20:37 | Not that I don't like him. He just made a hash of igas. I quite like him actually as I did well out of that one lol. Yes RRE looks a bargain. Just the decomissing costs could be a bit nasty. I will sit down this weekend and go over all the assets and see what's what. Obviously its cheap for a reason! | general george
31/1/2019 17:55 | What about rre gg? I know you don't like "aa" but that has to be the biggest bargain around? | dunderheed
31/1/2019 14:39 | SIA pay a dividend though. So some may consider SIA worthy of closer attention. At these levels even I think they are worth a look and that is after losing quite a bit of money on them. Must be crazy! | lauders
31/1/2019 08:44 | OPHR take over has come in at 43% premium to its last 3 month average price...a similar outcome for SOCO would mean a bid of around 107p. I wonder what would be the general consensus of SOCO share holders if something similar happened here? There’s a lot of disgruntled long term holders complaining that OPHR take over price is way to cheap but reality is they can do little about it 👍🏻 | 0rient
30/1/2019 18:54 | It's the obvious logical route for Ophir money - fits in many ways - albeit I'd suggest it hasn't even begun to start yet with only 300k shares traded. | nigelpm
30/1/2019 18:47 | 80p hopefully Ed :-))) haha Anyone know who the seller is? I’ve bought a shed load off him during the last couple of months..whoever it is they are definitely persistent & highly annoying :-)With a bit of luck they are close on finishing ;-) | 0rient
30/1/2019 18:33 | Quite possibly, Nigelpm. Seller apparently backed off a bit this afternoon and got slightly better prices. See what tomorrow brings. :-) | ed 123
30/1/2019 18:26 | Ophir funds filtering in one would think given the similar profiles. | nigelpm
29/1/2019 15:36 | Ed, re the XD date I wouldn't rush to assume it would go XD in May. The results are out in early March. Both Shell and BP go XD within two weeks of declaring a dividend and, now that dividend-paying is settled policy for SOCO, there is no reason why they shouldn't do likewise (and indeed pay the dividend much sooner also, since the complexity of dividend payment options that applies to Shell and BP does not apply to SOCO).Similarly, there is a case for paying an interim dividend in the same way.So, if I were a betting man, I'd guess a 4p dividend might be declared on 6 March, XD c.20th March and paid in mid/late April. And then a further interim (2p?) declared and paid in Autumn. | emptyend
29/1/2019 14:58 | Cheers Ed 👍🏻 Some good trades there..let’s hope SOCO follows suit! Days like today are disappointing..every single oil company on my watch list is positive except for SOCO! This lack of meaningful volume needs addressing by the company..so off putting to potential new investors! | 0rient
28/1/2019 21:19 | greysurfer you still in SDI ? | buywell3
28/1/2019 20:07 | Hi Orient. Hmmm .... yes, I do feel I've bought a bit early here. I could sell with a view to possibly buying back. If the next significant news is positive, then I may have to pay more, if negative I'll have avoided some losses. Decisions, decisions. Being a bit lazy about trading atm, having had good recent successes with Serica, then Faroe and now Ophir (assuming a recommended bid is made). My current feeling is that I'll probably hang on for now and, as we get closer to ex-dividend date (guessing towards the end of May), then the shares may find a bit of support? | ed 123 |
