In today's Financial Times there is a snippet on Robert Swanson. The article states that he owns 5,201,471 shares in Sinclair IS Pharma worth £1,643,766. Mr Swanson has doubled his holding in the last month after the shares touched 30p.

The article also says that Mr Swanson is a veteran of the Pharmaceutical industry having co founded PhamaSwiss and he has served as an executive at Pfizer.

You would think that Mr Swanson knows what he is doing.

But the other funds and the directors won't go along with that!

IMHO the MM`s are holding the share price down until Toscafund get 30% of the shares and make a bid offer.

I understand that the Peel Hunt report confirms that the Silhouette deal is the last large one they envisage doing for a while and now the focus will be on making it all happen. Hence the 55p tp. I gues they might do the odd small aquisition from time to time but nothing that requires large share issues. We shall see.
Surely now that the Big Man (Soros) has given SPH his 'blessing' by taking a chunk, the desire of PI's to get out will start to evaporate.

Market Report on page 76 in today's Daily Mail reports that Peel Hunt has lifted Sinclair IS Pharma's share price target from 50p to 55p.

The Company's acquisition of Silhouette, which has found a replacement for Botox, has the potential to become its largest product and, collectively, the 2014 transactions double Sinclair's weighting to the growing aesthetic market to 60% of sales.

This explains why George Soros's hedge fund increased its stake above 5% and why the CEO and Swanson have purchased more shares.

Point taken on the price Red. However if institutions are selling don't they have to issue an RNS?
eggbaconandbubble

Don't think they are buying left overs from the issue, see recent RNS:

"Stuart Swanson, a Non-Executive Director, acquired 319,146 ordinary shares in Sinclair at an average price of 30.5p per share"

It is quoting a market price.

However, some funds may be triming there exposure or some PIs may have decided to get out.

John, thanks, What I meant was.........
Because of the additional shares issued their percentage holding may have fallen but lazybones here looked back and worked out their new holding is now 28.2020% (was 27.0158%)
I don't think private punters are selling cos of the big volumes Swansong et al are buying. I think it's the leftovers of the recent issue. May be wrong though.

So private punters keep selling while Directors and Institutions including
Soros Fund Management keep on buying the company ?

Not unusually, the ADVFN board reports many buys as sells, certainly the deals made at 30.6 are buys. Good luck guys and dolls. MW

John, sorry, I didn't read your message fully. Have Tosca actually increase their percentage holding?

As usual - not at all.
Red, If there were funds trying to sell before the latest issue, I don't think they would have been able to do it at a premium. BWTFDIK.
I think Swanson is buying shares left over from this latest issue.
I note Tosca had to top up to keep their percentage holding. But that said they must have approved the aquisition.

You would think that the price will start to motor ahead in due course.Placing at a premium, solid institutional holders getting on board.Mind you,i've had such thoughts in the past.

In addition to your list Spooner now has 8.75 million and Swansong is up to 8.88 million of which he bought 3.125 million (£1 million) in the recent issue and post that a further 900,000 at approx £275,000!!!
Either they are all barking mad or something is in the air. Which one seems most likely?

JW, Thanks for that. No doubt there will be a few funds like Abingworth declaring their percentage holdings over the next day or two as they are effectively reduced by the new issue.
The list above has some serious values held by some serious fund managers. So I assume they have been told the plan (and approve) but the hoi polloi are being kept in the dark.

So, to do the US aquisition they have initially issued 62.5m shares at 32p of which the Soros lot bought 25m which is just over 5% of the new total shares in issue. Interesting that they chose to go just over the 5% so they have to declare their shareholding, and that the present market price is a bit less than that which they paid. All very interesting. Watch this space. Is it time to now jump in even if their plan is not obvious???

So Stuart Swanson and Christopher Spooner hold a tad under 4% between them... The question is why?
