If you go onto a site called www.investegate.com key in SPH you will bring up all the Companies announcements on the buyout and read them for yourself. In my opinion the offer will be accepted by a majority of share holders.

Bid touted at 32p. About half of what I need to break even.
Interesting views on Tosca, will they be happy at 32p or like me underwater?
This mornings share price movement would seem to indicate either a belief that the deal will be done or a belated recognition that SPH is seriously undervalued.

Cheers,
Chozza (Still standing survivor of the recent iii train wreck)

Someone following SPH must have the knowledge or experience of these matters to list the possible scenarios we have here. Anyone!

IMHO it would seem that the Chinese want SPH on the cheap and the Major shareholders and the Directors want to sell. For share holders sake not to low in price, key is Tosca and what they paid to be a 29% holder.

Toaca I feel are the key here, why would they sell at these prices. Their researchers will have done their work many moons ago and revue on a regular basis having SPH as a long time hold IMHO. Would be nice to know their target price though.

No expert here but I am guessing this offer period is to stop ANOther co. putting in a lowball offer. i.e. giving SPH some breathing space.
Is that possible or likely?

Maybe phone his agency. Tell him to go long on SPH and then announce to the world that he's had it done!

Most probably got too much dosh anyway. Just a thought.

TOSCA HAS 29% of SPH:

1) Healthcare company Circle Holdings is to delist from the London Stock Exchange next month when it is taken over by Toscafund.
The London-based hedge fund announced a takeover deal for Circle at the end of March.

Toscafund already owned a 26.75 per cent stake in Circle and offered 30p for each additional share, valuing the company to £75.2m.

2) LONDON (Alliance News) - AIM-listed InternetQ PLC on Tuesday said it was approached by a trio of investors comprising hedge fund Toscafund Asset Management LLP

Hmmmm........remember the day SPH sold assets to APH......many thought APH had well over-paid, share price reacted badly and it looked as if SPH had pulled a blinder.......move on a couple of years and SPH languishing in the doldrums, burning through the proceeds with APH on the ascent, sweating those very same assets......
