NIMBY's everywhere..!!

Most estuaries are breeding grounds for wildfowl so will all come against this argument.

Is wildlife/environment more important than humans..?

Sure. How do I find this group? It's the first time I've seen one mentioned. I have telegram.I just use LSE and ADVFN as I didn't know of any others for SAE.

It's like WotsApp , there is a telegram group for SAE investors

That makes sense - at least, as you say - initially.

Cfd auctions are indeed annual now but I reckon SAE wont submit one each year. They will want to work through the development process in stages, gradually unlock economies of scale and steadily make their way down the cost curve, learning at each stage as they go. They probably need to test out their new turbines and the sub-sea hub in the field and take a staged approach before putting in a monster bid of 250MW or so in a few years time once they know their cost estimates are accurate. Just my two cents.

Things starting to heat up.https://www.punchline-gloucester.com/www.punchline-biz.co.uk/articles/aanews/case-for-30-billion-pound-severn-tidal-barrage-urgent-and-compellingBackers of a £30 billion tidal energy barrage across the Severn Estuary say the case is now 'both urgent and compelling'.The Great Western Power Barrage envisages a concrete embankment across the Severn Estuary in which turbines are installed to generate electricity from the tide. The proposed location is from Lavernock Point, just south of Cardiff, to near Hinkley Point in Somerset.Exploring tidal power was high on the agenda for last week's Green Growth Western Gateway conference run by the Western Gateway Partnership. The estuary has a huge tidal range of up to 15 metres and that brings energy generation potential. It could provide 8-15 GW - equivalent to electricity from 500-1000 of the world's largest wind turbines or from 16,000-30,000 hectares of solar panels. It would provide at least twice as much energy as any other UK power plant.

Yes :-

Clabburn - both fairly crucial.

I added last year at 2.70p, 1.75 & 1.46p.

I think I'll wait for now to add any further.

Thank you for the info , did they not change the CFD contracts to every 12 months ? recently .

Volumes traded have ticked up but still way down on what they were last year. If things go well, it could get back to 10p very quickly. The enterprise value of Meygen alone dwarfs the current market cap IF they can prove it has a route to market. If they can get a Cfd for 80MW this year, chances are they will divide the rest of the project into a couple of tranches and bid into auctions every 2 years. Im quite curious to see what their long term plans for tidal are. We should get an interesting update when full year results are published in the summer.

Agree Skinny. I averaged down when the share price was 1.8p in November and wanted to wait and see if they could navigate the winter months and service their debt payments. They have done that successfully and the macro context has further improved. We should not forget that the company are still in a precarious place though - they have a lot of debt maturing in the summer and are still looking at years of losses and only 6MW of assets generating revenue. If they get a CDF for Meygen and/or approval at Uskmouth they will immeiately see big equity gains which they should be able to leverage. This will inevitably feed through to the share price, even if they decide to sell off an equity stakes in Meygen for instance.

In a 2017 interview ex CEO Tim Cornelius said each turbine (1.5MW) was worth £100k income per month. Hopefully we will shortly have 3 working on site and this figure has gone up with current energy wholesale prices

I've been reluctant to add (I'm still down 62%), but it's once again becoming compelling.

Just to give an idea of the potential value held in the 400MW consented at Meygen with all necessary grid permits and infrastructure already built. If SAE can fully develop the sight with an average price of £100/MWh I estimate that it could deliver £100M+ per year in revenue. Obviously, a long way to go but the odds of this happening successfully have massively improved in the past 4 months. Having annual CFD auctions and a ring-fenced pot for tidal is key. We dont know yet if the ring fenced money is a one off this year but I am hoping its the start of a period of sustained support for the industry.

Olympic Challenger status currently showing restricted maneuverability. From What kind of vessel is restricted in ability to maneuver? " defined in Rule 3(g) of the Navigation Rules, a vessel restricted in her ability to maneuver (also called a RAM vessel) is one "which from the nature of her work is restricted in her ability to maneuver as required by [the Navigation Rules],'Some examples of RAM vessels include a vessel laying, servicing or picking up a navigation aid, submarine cable, or pipeline; a dredge; a vessel engaged in surveying or underwater operations; a vessel engaged in replenishment, cargo or personnel transfer while underway; a towing vessel with a tow that severely restricts the towing vessel and her tow from deviating from their course; a vessel launching or recovering aircraft; a mine-clearing vessel.'It looks as though something is being put in the water!!!

It looks like Olympic Challenger has arrived at her destination, the Pentland Firth.Clear weather for the next 48 hours with light winds tomorrow. Should be near perfect conditions to drop a turbine or too.Good luck fellas.

I see Drax power is kicking out Russian raw materials to power their Biomass furnaces and will be importing Canadian pellets , so no reason why Uskmouth should not get the green light with a bit of fine tuning .

With the rethink on UK energy security, any views if Uskmouth may now move forward and get more support? Or is it going to get held up with environmental permits next

Looking forward to Monday. Good luck all. Had been buying in again since early Feb as I felt it was hugely undervalued with big upside potential. Tidal in my opinion is a sound source of energy because of it's predictability. You know what you're gonna get and when you're gonna get it! Predictability is great for business. With the energy crisis upon us this is SAE time to push itself into the forefront of available clean energy. There is approval for plenty of turbines at the Meygen site. Go big or go home!I see it going big.
