Do we think that the Welsh government will make a decision next year? If it is negative, that's already in the price, but if it was positive......

The future of one of the most innovative renewable energy companies on the planet is all but secure now. Easy long term investment from today's 'going bust' valuation.

Im starting to feel increasingly comfortable taking a punt here. Even if they do end up restructuring at some stage, the enterprise value in Meygen alone makes the current market cap grossly undervalued in my view.

My first stab at these was @26.25p, AV now 5.03p - so a return to double figures and more would be very welcome.

Close the gap to 4.5p first, but the Gov's commitment to this project should take us back to 30p in the near term.

Now we have confirmation of being involved in CFD then a quick ride up to 5p should be on the cards .

Debate in parliament last night regarding this £20m and the how the govt reached its decision. Worth reading to get an impression of what the govt is thinking and possibly what might happen moving forwards. SNP leader (Ian Blackford) is all over this btw so we do have political pressure on our side.

That's a decent assessment from mdchand. A Cfd now looks odds on with this new ring fenced money and the Meygen project is too strategically valuable for Scotland and the tidal industry as a whole for it to fall by the wayside. That alone makes the current market cap look ridiculous. The debt is definitely an issue but with a Cfd in the bag, there will be a re-rating in Meygen's enterprise value and they can afford to sell off a chunk of it to infrasture investors or partners like Nova. It will also fundamentally change the narrative around the company and probably allow them to raise fresh equity on the markets and refinance the debt. Still walking a tightrope but I have fresh hope that I might get some of my money back from this one...

Progress of any kind on the waste to energy stuff will also have an immediate impact but that looks increasingly unlikely to go anywhere in my opinion. It looks like it could be a solution in south east Europe or parts of Asia but hard to imagine a commpany the size of SAE suddenly becoming a global developer. They would need to convert the power station, set up a pellet production facility and build up supply networks with municipalities and local waste management compannies. Its hard enough to do that in the UK or Europe, let alone far flung corners of the developing world.

I'm calling the bottom. Don't be surprised to see 30p + over the next few months.

Close the gap to 4.5p is my first target.
