Commenting on the launch of Great British Energy by the Labour Party, RenewableUK CEO Dan McGrail said:"With the right set-up and direction, Great British Energy has the potential to play a key role in supporting the development of innovative emerging technologies like tidal power and floating wind, as well as the development of new onshore wind and solar sites through Labour's Local Power Plan".

You clearly have no idea about balance sheets. This company is mired in debt hence the low equity valuation. Uskmouth worth 30 or 40m but debt exceeds that

Do the maths , Uskmouth fully developed on the BESS project should easily generate over £200 M in revenue on land sales alone ,, and Gupta will become even richer , as will shareholdrs here.

Gupta will be there when more cash is required , he is no fool and will yet come good here.

This is a flea bitten dog that needs a proper clean up. They need to get rid of the Gupta shareholding, clean up the balance sheet and sort the funding out for Maygen expansion. Not sure the management are up to the job tbh but we will know soon enough as more debt becomes due

GBEnergy will be the main provider of funding going forward , based in scotland , so SAE will be sitting round the table collecting the cash.Massive growth for Maygen for sure.

I see this got finance from New Technology Capital LLC a few years ago - anyone know who they are of which company backs them? I assume the financing was negative for SAE?

Oh yes is that so , check how much support has gone into the Nuclear industry in the last 70 years , my research says over £200 Billion , and still growing !

If the "technology" was any good then it wouldn't need "support"!

Labour did have a plan to support this technology , but have ditched those ideas , and the SNP are in a bigger mess , maybe the Chinese will step in with their cash , usual performance from the present GOV all talk and no action.

Looking at the modest trades recently then there is clearly little appetite to see this rise , options have been issued so lots of incentive to get things done here.Have they the skills to perform ?

The complete lack of news on Meygen expansion is a big concern here. No one has any idea whether it is financially or operationally deliverable. Certainly no one putting any value on it

Heh heh, no arguments with the historic chart, JakNife. What interests me is what the next couple of years will show. Care to plot the chart extending that line ?

Fwatson,

"What is this trading update news? I can’t read it…."

See:

Hands up who think that the board will:

A. Put these funds carefully aside so that they can repay the bonds on the due date?

B. Award themselves grotesquely inflated salaries and bonuses .... because they can?
