02/6/2008 12:00 | ArtNouveau and other holders, Within the fall (and continued volatility) of the FTSE which I suspect will continue for the next few months SHP as once again been hit hard. It could well remain trapped between £8.85p - £8.40p until the markets recover or some good new comes from the US regarding it drugs. It just goes to show that even Goldman Sachs (AND OTHER CO'S)with their very well renumerated analysts and staff can get the timing of their purchases wrong, just as the mere man or woman that does not work in the CITY. I will buy a further tranche if this falls much further. c2i | contrarian2investor
30/5/2008 20:10 | Don't know if the rally was linked to the auction. It has traded VERY volatile this week. On Tuesday or Wednesday lunchtime it shot up to +24.5 then came back around 3pm. Today it was up a few pence then at the end of the day fell back 17p at one point. I'm told by 2 different stockbrokers that it's just volatility in the market. There has been more than several LARGE buys the past few weeks. One of them was Goldman Sachs increasing its holding. I was very surprised not to see an RNS tonight with regard 7mn shares being purchased. I've bought with a 3 month view that it is undervalued by about £2-£3 or possible bid hopes from either Bristol-Myers, AZN or Pfizer. Good Luck anyhow. ArtN | artnouveau
30/5/2008 19:00 | ArtNoveau, I would be hoping for some news re progress in America or some news on the (increase in volume) large number of shares that have change hands this week. Here's hoping because other SHP will just drift back towards sub £8.50p. I also noticed there was a false rally in the last 3 minutes of trading, was that linked to the auction? c2i | contrarian2investor
30/5/2008 17:50 | Contrarian, Just as an aside what would you be expecting in the weekend press? ArtN | artnouveau
30/5/2008 17:44 | Bought some more today contrarian2investor. As with MRW today there's a large auction trade end of play. This one worth some £62mn. ArtN | artnouveau
30/5/2008 15:48 | Another volatile week for SHY in spite of some good new and major transactions in the stock. We will have to wait to see the weekend press, to see if any trends appear. All the best to fellow holders. c2i | contrarian2investor
27/5/2008 16:32 | Hi Jamike, Whilst I know that the markets are volatile and any hint of bad knews from Shire will absolutely hammer their stock price. I purchased a small tranche of shares recently with a 5% stop loss because I foresee these back above £10+ in the next 3 months, following sales growth. c21 | contrarian2investor
16/5/2008 15:04 | Hello, something's up - the share price since 14.30. I was just about to put a spread bet on the price falling, but now I am holding out to see what happens. | jarmike
12/5/2008 09:09 | Once it changes domicile could be a catalyst... The board of Shire is proposing to effect a court sanctioned scheme of arrangement relating to the corporate structure and organisation of the company whereby Shire will become a subsidiary of Shire Limited, a new UK listed, Jersey incorporated holding company for the group. Shareholders will receive 1 new ordinary share in Shire Limited for each ordinary share held. Timetable of Events Scheme Record date: 22/5/8 Effective date: 23/5/8 Dealings commence in Shire Limited: 23/5/8 | liquidkid
06/5/2008 15:08 | Let's hope intraday picks up otherwise I think it's heading for low 800's. | rfv
06/5/2008 13:34 | 'consumer' ADHD drugs??? | the_doctor
06/5/2008 12:40 | jarmike, I think you are probably right. | crawford
06/5/2008 12:25 | So what do you think is going to happen? A rollercoaster of ups and downs - but down overall? | jarmike
06/5/2008 12:22 | Shire was also under the cosh, down 41 pence at 878, ahead of a U.S. committee hearing due Thursday on its consumer ADHD drugs, market sources said. | crawford
06/5/2008 12:05 | You couldn't be more correct doctor. Watch the rumours abound next week. Not only do the PI's have to contend with the general market malaise brought on by the banks but also the city cheats. We havn't a chance! | rfv
06/5/2008 11:38 | ... they ramp up rumours of a takeover .... then they issue sell notes and push it down | the_doctor
06/5/2008 10:48 | Here we go again! what's causing the fall this time? | aclark9201
29/4/2008 20:41 | Can see it ticking back over £10 in the next few weeks. If so, might sell then and wait for another dip. I just have a niggling fear that we may still be in the down trend started last summer. But then WTFDIK. | markth
29/4/2008 10:04 | Wont be AZ | the_doctor
29/4/2008 10:00 | agree, starting to buy myself, target back over 1100p but i feel this will be taken out shortly by either GSK or AZN. | dontyo
28/4/2008 21:53 | markth, I tend to agree, looks like a good entry point. | crawford
28/4/2008 18:21 | Well it's down another 4% today, took the chance to re-enter it after a long period on the sidelines since it dipped back below £11 in early '07. After selling, watched in horror as it ticked back up towards £13.... There's nothing in the latest RNS to justify the recent falls IMO. | markth
28/4/2008 12:25 | dont you just love these bankers who lose billions and continue to tell the rest of us how to invest! | rodrod1
28/4/2008 12:22 | "UBS has slashed its target from 1400p to 1350p" Thats hardly a 'slashing'! | the_doctor
28/4/2008 12:21 | From today's thisismoney report: Drug maker Shire fell a further 25p to 915p in the wake of last week's first quarter results. UBS has slashed its target from 1400p to 1350p. It says the results were broadly in line, but sales of Vyvanse, its treatment for attention deficit disorder, were at the bottom end of the range. | crawford |
