I disagree Jaafar1 I am sure that Shire will end up buying New River. The share price will fall only if they end up paying too much. However it would be in New River's best interest to sell so I think a fair price will be struck. Following this Shire itself will become a prime candidate for a bid approach - so you shorters watch out. IMHO

12) A good play for social respoonsible investment funds

13) Cost reduction in place and focus on the products that have the attention from big blue chip clients like Wal Mart.

14) Starpol is in the Wal Mart score card

15) Its subsidiaries like Biotech etc, actually make money

Shire's aquisition of TKT has meant that it is not totally dependant on ADHD medication. Now a very interesting aquisition itself for those companies like Astra whose pipeline is weak. However I don't think that Astra could afford Shire which will sell at a premium. Who dares short now!!!!
