No somewhere slightly cooler. Our holiday plans were belatedly radically changed when I discovered I couldn’t get an ESTA because I went to Iran 3 years ago. C’est la vie....

Anyway back to Shield. I managed to increase my spreadbet yesterday at 182p despite being out walking!

Nobby, did I pass you earlier, on the road back from Cala de Deia, certainly a few cyclists going up and down from Valldemossa?

The Ceo is Excellent from the interviews I've seen thought the Cfo was straight and playing it cautiously

You’re right, he was well off the pace; let’s hope the CEO does a better job when he presents.....

I’ve actually got a real problem with how Tim Watts performed in this video. He’s got the stiff accent of the City CFO down pretty well but he came across as poorly briefed. He doesn’t know the prevalence of iron deficiency anaemia in China? He’s having a wild stab at the percentage of the global market Feraccru can get(oh about 10%...based on what?) He should be totally on top of the forecast. They’ve only got one product ffs. They persist in saying that Feraccru will take a percentage of the IV market when Ferinject has very low penetration in China and the US. So where do you get those patients from?..from second line primary care maybe. So what percentage of that market are you getting? From which comorbidities? You can’t send an accountant to do a marketeer’s job.

Tim Watts makes the statement that a study in China will be required before a label is granted. I believe that is incorrect. Many companies are getting a label in China based on having an FDA label and then conducting a post marketing Phase 4 study to confirm efficiency. I have heard this multiple times from people working in the Chinese market.

MM, nice wide spread to try and dislodge (mug) a few more sellers, doesn’t seem to be working, see no point in selling when you know a big leg up will come on a US commercialization deal will come this quarter

Just hold for the first deal...US commercialization deal, then a leg up, then hold again for the next deal Hold-Hold-Hold!

Director spent 134,000 grand, at 178p, so surely he thinks good value and no placing, not needed, get a deal signed before Xmas, no problem.

Nyboy As you say have also held shares that have raised cash out of the blue But don’t see any reason whatsoever for the need to raise cash at this juncture ,and if we get the USA deal I expect don’t see any need full stop.
They have already previously mentioned that the upfront payment should more thane cover current near to medium term cash needs as the royalties start to grow substantially.

Even if they raised I doubt lower than 175p, so like you say neither here nor there.

Might add a few more today.

And would reduce uncertainty for the business and increase strength in negotiations

And if they did raise say £10 million that would be less than a 5% dilution at this level so neither here nor there really....

Nobby I tend to agree with you on the cash raise but I thought the same of a few others over the years but bang the temptation..a chance for institution investors to buy in, can happen. Still, let’s give them the benefit of the doubt and this is yet just another gently mugging to grab some more cheap stock to feed the buying demand.

They absolutely don't need to raise money as they have money for another year. So they are in a perfectly strong negotiating position because they are not up against any wall. Plus there are at least 2 potential revenue generating deals up for grabs so either one is not essential. I never say never but I will be amazed if they raise more money.

Just wondering, why 2 investor evening, this month and next?

Can’t see the point unless they are buttering up investors for a cash call, whilst the share price is this high?

Still I remain quietly optimistic of further upside.

Monty your 250p prediction by tomorrow?

Would agree and have stated They had their backs against the wall at the time of the Nordgine deal they needed cash they had a limited label they didn’t have the game changing study results proving none inferiority to Ferrinject
I’m not sure on the costs of the China p3 trial also what the approach will be it may depend on if they have secured the US deal with sizeable upfront for current cash needs. If that was the case they may go for an higher percentage of royalties so a more beneficial deal for the long term but would still expect Minimum £10Million
Ref the investor evening they had stated no new Material information would be made available so that’s what we got
