23/10/2008 16:55 | from the trades today i think someone is building stock... | periorellis
23/10/2008 16:53 | Just saw a flash on CNBC that Ubisoft raised guidance and said "current crisis creates opportunities to expand"... in other words there are a lot of cheap companies to buy. Could they make a bid for Sci? | dealy
23/10/2008 15:05 | QUEENY YOU ARE OPMOC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | the crypt
23/10/2008 14:43 | does seg have any support at this level? | periorellis
23/10/2008 12:49 | opmoc brilliant. I've missed you. | queeny2
23/10/2008 12:07 | Pasta, yes, it's another bumper Christmas release schedule. I thought last year was a step change in terms of quality/quantity but this year pretty much matches it. Don't forget Fable 2, Far Cry 2, World of Warcraft: Lich King, Dead Space, and probably a host of others I've forgotten about. | darrens
23/10/2008 11:57 | Yes, CoD bound to sell bigtime. Don't forget Quantum of Solace, GH:World Tour and NFS:Undercover (which launches same day I believe) - all multiplatform (inc PS2 and Wii I believe). LBP PS3 only so although it deserves to do extremely well, am sure sales will be a little muted next to the other big hitters, then again GoW:2 is bound to be as big as anything else and that's X360 only. Still a chance for TR:U to shine a little given it's different genre to all the above titles, and only PoP comes close to that. Sony needs to drop the PS3 price (which they are steadfasty refusing to do at the moment)... | pastasource
23/10/2008 11:21 | Pasta, well I think there are loads of big-hitters coming out around Christmas but I agree with your comments about PoP (good news for TRU) and COD5 (also good news for TRU). However, Little Big Planet has been moved back closer to TRU which aint' good news and, realistically, COD5 is still going to sell by the bucketload even if it is just a filler from COD4. And it comes out the week before TRU. | darrens
23/10/2008 11:05 | Couldn't agree more Darren. On the flip side, most of the other big Christmas games I'm seeing previewed are being treated in a similar fashion, PoP (awkward gameplay, too many QTE's) and CoD5 (Treyarch just providing at interim 'filler' product while Infinity Ward provide the real innovation) in particular. Enthusiasm seems to be deserting everyone at the moment. Have you heard about Sony's recent earnings cut as well? ( worrying times. TRU was the main thing keeping me interested in SEG... they really need to get some sparks flying (re:TRU) in this climate. | pastasource
23/10/2008 10:54 | Pasta, that's the kind of preview that worries me. It's only one so nothing necessarily to worry about but I really want the journos to sound a bit more excited about it! | darrens
23/10/2008 10:18 | TRU looks great, it will certainly be a hit...i dont know how much it will affect the share price though...it should go up today...we are due a positive day.. | periorellis
23/10/2008 09:07 | A new TRU preview, nothing earth shattering, but certainly looks like turning into a solid, polished title that might hold its own in the run up to Christmas ('recession' aside of course): | pastasource
23/10/2008 06:35 | we need some more news regarding stake building to get this share going again... | periorellis
23/10/2008 05:43 | opmoc - are you losing it???????? are you a hippy, pippy long haired, greasy, rucksacked twerp???? with a bandanna???? stay away from me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | the crypt
22/10/2008 22:34 | Come on lets have a bid at 55-60p and put us all out of our misery.!!!! | topinfo
22/10/2008 21:51 | A less than overwhelming preview of PoP at the link: This is the most obvious competition for TRU, so if the series is going in a negative direction that can only bode well for Eidos. Worth keeping an eye on. | life of crime
22/10/2008 19:22 | Blimey, we're all in agreement for once. | darrens
22/10/2008 19:21 | Agreed, DX3 on PC only is daft. If he is serious, they should can the project now. I hope it's just a misunderstanding and that head office will "clarify" the situation on Montreal's behalf. It needs to come out on PS3 and 360 with their horsepower. | life of crime
22/10/2008 18:47 | Not releasing on console is just plain nuts. My hope is that they're either toying with the idea of a platform exclusive (i.e. X360 and PC only, no PS3) or that they're thinking of a Wii version as well as PC, X360 and PS3 (a game that would likely be somewhat different). I'm sure Jean-Francois just didn't want to comment on those potential scenarios - as I said, only a hope. I thought SEG were starting to 'get' the whole multiplatform thing that has served its rivals so well (TRU re-focus onto all platforms for example). PC only (even for killer titles like Crysis) is simply not profitable enough, and becoming less so - no matter how well executed. Even the MMO makers are turning their thoughts to mass market platforms... | pastasource
22/10/2008 16:41 | Uncle Bob, I agree with you whole heartedly. Those morons at the helm of SEG are useless and must be removed! | the crypt |
