08/10/2008 15:24 | The market cap is now less than the equity capital that they raised in May. | dealy
08/10/2008 15:22 | lol - when you are losing as much as I am - you just got to laff it off!!!!!!!!! I will hold for long term and try and buy a few more..... I think the company is worth something, for its intellectual property. | the crypt
08/10/2008 15:19 | Anybody feel like committing suicide? | dealy
08/10/2008 15:03 | lol - you guys crack me up. | the crypt
08/10/2008 14:25 | The whole TW shareholding and deal mean bid unlikely, except from them of course. Seems likely Tchenguiz's stock will come out at some point given MAB and SBRY. | queeny2
08/10/2008 14:25 | People don't have the luxury at present of caring about break even. It's about a scramble for cash. You take whatever cash you can get or you need. If he has to sell he would probably sell to WB - they would make most sense. His stake is currently only worth about £10m which is peanuts in the greater scheme of things. | dealy
08/10/2008 14:10 | Well, leaving Tchenguiz aside I've no doubt that all stocks have been hit by forced sellers. It wasn't just the banks who were leveraged, it was plenty of investors too. wrt to Tchenguiz then I haven't followed his fortunes of late but certainly seems possible that he's going to have to lose his stake in SCi. | darrens
08/10/2008 14:06 | robert chingese is still a wealthy man - he should concentrate on only SEG. | the crypt
08/10/2008 14:02 | Darren, I hope SCi does not end up being one of those companies squeezed by forced sellers. If Tchenguiz has to offload his stake in them, as he seems to have done with M&B and Sainsbury's, then SCi will be vulnerable to a bid in the near future and at a low price, especially if WB get their hands on Tchenguiz's shares at these levels. Hopefully his interest in SCi is so low in comparison to his other holdings it is the equivalent of looking for change down the back of the sofa! Holding out to break even on this stock, circa £20M, would be worth a lot more to him now personally than it would have been a couple of months ago. | life of crime
08/10/2008 13:56 | An Icelandic bank has gone into administration which was a major backer of Robert Tchenguiz. Today it has sold his 25% holding of Mitchell and Butlers from under him (rumour has it that he couldn't make the margin calls). It was a fire sale price of 130p v a market price of 163p. They have also sold 135m shares in Sainsbury's at a fire sale price. They may or may not be his. The same bank held shares in SCi Entertainment on an RNS at :- 1 July 2008 Kaupthing Bank hf Derivatives (other than options) Long 38,277,884 (14.81 %) Derivatives (other than options) Short 29,325,851 (11.35 %) Total Shares on issue are 259,893,548 What will happen to these and any thing else held by Robert Tchenguiz is effecting the share price. His full position may be made known when the Annual Report is issued later this month. But my guess is that Thorsen Investments had some 37 million shares at a cost of some £74 million or roughly after averaging down £2.00 each. Time Warner has roughly 32 million shares (at a lower average price). Each has a non executive board member. | togglebrush
08/10/2008 13:16 | Thanks, Andy. I also have a reasonably good vibe about TRU in Europe but am much less sure about its prospects in N. America. dealy, there is undoubtedly loads of forced selling in the market pushing some stocks to daft prices on the back of holders being forced to liquidate positions. Pick the right ones and this could end up being a very lucrative time for those able to take advantage. | darrens
08/10/2008 13:07 | A holiday ! A holiday ! I remember them ! Things must be good. I see now where my 5 quid price tag on Eidos's excellent Commandos 2, is going. | the winchester club
08/10/2008 12:58 | Hvae a great holiday mate! | the crypt
08/10/2008 12:40 | Hi Darren Hope you are well. The Buzz is not really started yet for TRU although I think it will do pretty well as it is coming out on more formats than ever before (PS3,360,Wii,DS,PS2 & PC) all on the 21st November. the only other contender out that day at present is Need For Speed although November is full of big titles. As long as Eidos dont do too many deals on the trade price I think it will be probably the biggest Tomb Raider launch in Uk yet but I know Speciatists & Supermarkets are playing hardball big style to get discount, marketing, special edition deals etc I will probably have a look at buying some shares early November as away on Holiday next week and will wait for all the turmoil to calm down abit as well All the best Andy | rawli
08/10/2008 12:17 | Toast is hardier and more resistant to mould than, say, bread. I'd still prefer to be making bread. | the winchester club
08/10/2008 11:52 | lets hope these start a gallant rise. It would be good if Rogers and his motley crew of twerps - started to lead by example and started purchasing shares in the company they work for. | the crypt
08/10/2008 11:47 | Almost every stock I follow that has fallen 30% or so in the last few days on no news is faced with the "is this toast?" question. It looks to me like nothing other than forced selling. | dealy
