RH, Goodfellow talked about handing over a WAD of cash to Holloway, this news does not equate to a wad of cash so one would assume there is more to come.

I must admit that this with further thought is an absolutely great way of D risking the vaccine but it’s almost as if yes it is validation but in a sense that validation won’t really come through until the results are out and as I said we are looking at 2020 effect at the moment we are Looking at potentially going back to US investors to ask for the SCIB1 one money for the share price of 14p. The other side of me is hoping that there is it least something else coming in the next few months which will increase the share price further

It ISN'T YET"

Panama, I agree. Good news but still lots of uncertainty.
One being SCIB2 combo study, great that we have this deal but still probably mid 2019 to 2020 before we hear how it’s getting on. So long time to wait on that front but of course good rewards if it proves itself.

Funding for SCIB1 combo still needs to be sorted and as a shareholder I’d have hoped for more of a rise off the back of any forthcoming news as was alluded to at the AGM so maybe more is coming? We can hope.

Otherwise Where does that leave funding now. I note you say raising money at the current share price would you think even that will be possible? I’d have to go I discount still?

Although this is very positive news not sure why holders are expecting a massive jump in the share price Funding is still not sorted, if this is the only validation and no other deals in the pipeline I don't see Goodfellow raising funds at much more than the current share price If they expect to raise funds at a significantly higher share price then one would have thought there has to be more to come and he only has a couple of weeks.

Goyathley, the pick of the posts today IMO.

Maybe just sometimes we can look at the news we got today and just say it is very good, we have a long way to go, so many indications identified, much news to come and that all important "external validation". Who knows what that alone might open for us, i am sure the BOD know exactly what.

I have been saying for quite a while we have a seller, active yesterday again and with 14.50 paid 13 times very sure will offload more today. Will be good to see whoever it is cleared very soon.

I feel this RNS will build in momentum, one thing i know for sure is that i added 35k shares in the hope of such news at 11.8125 and 11.85, and feel a lot more confident today than i have felt for some considerable time. I am sure i am not the only one.

GL All here, i am sure i had a tenner bet with TF that SCIB2 would provide that validation. If you"re reading this TF please put it into a charity in Thailand for cancer care. Have a good day.

Thanks inanco. Does the formulation not need to be adjusted for other indications or is it identical for all cancers that over express the same protein ?

miavoice the other indications for scib2 won't need a phase 1 trial dose escalation phase, if efficacy is seen in the phase 1 part of the NSCLC they may elect to expand before they have the phase 2 results into the other indications.

Reading the announcement again it looks as though there is an intention for CRUK to undertake a series of Phase 1/2 trials on a range of solid tumour cancers (assuming that the NSCLC trial is successful) - makes this look like an ever better deal than it first appeared.

I guess if these Phase 1/2's are successful this would then provide the basis for subsequent commercial partnerships (I can see why pharma's would not be rushing to partner on a product that had not even been through phase 1/2).

Waterloo,

Yes understand that the market (especially short term traders) like a good old fashioned pharma deal, was just commenting on your point re. loss of control.

Article from labiotech

"The success rate of this model is not different from that of a pharmaceutical company. Which is remarkable given that CRUK is a charity fully funded by donations, without government subsidies. A great example for emerging institutions bidding for the non-profit model in biotech."

Things that go un-noticed by many - but not ALL =
Does no-one find the 'JUMP' in S P the other day... for NO apparent reason ... not even 'a little bit suspect' ???
.
Nothing wrong with the news today
BUT
ANY news WAS going to be 'played-up' by the punk group Nappy and the trHYPERS....
to the point that all those who were predicting "DEFINATE multi-bags / We are SURE to see S P LIFT-OFF today" ETC, ETC =
Are, in REALITY, left DISAPPOINTED that their LOSSES are to remain for some time yet.
10% as of... is not REALLY "Multi-bags" is it ???
.
NO DOUBT, Nappy 'n' co, will DEMAND...... IT IS { or WILL be SOON, or ... at least, in Nappy 5 year terms .... IMMINENT { so BUY, BUY, BUY... so HE CAN SELL / recover HIS LOSSES}
.
LONG way to go yet.

I agree m8. No disrespect to anyone here. But you generally deal with charities, only after you have exhausted trying to get a deal with a big pharma company. Which is probably why the share price is now contracting.

Bermuda, I'm very possibly wrong. I don't follow SCLP that closely but generally much prefer to see pharma putting some ££ behind it.

Waterloo,

They haven't licensed the IP to CRUK so in that sense retain full ownership and control of the drug. The question then remains as to whether or not you believe CRUK have the knowledge and ability to carry out a clinical trial.

We all know the situation re. cancer vaccines and the fact that they have found a non-dilutive way of taking SCIB2 into the clinic can't possibly be described as anything other than great news.
