What about the healthy Doctor in Florida and the healthy Nurse in Tennessee. The U.K haven't reported any data yet which is strange as the CDC reported ADR's after the first couple of weeks in U.S yet we haven't reported any data after a month.

Inanco, strange when all the over 80's with co-morbitiess have died of Covid. You can't have it both ways. What about the care home in upstate New York 24 deaths and 139 infected since vaccination. What about the three new strains.

Torquay, why are people who are questioning these particular so called Vaccines labelled anti-vaxxers. For one these are not Vaccines , they do not provide immunity, they were called Vaccines so they could be rushed through for Emergency purposes. They are treatments and had they been named as such then questioned would have been asked as to what other treatments do we have. I stated 2 weeks ago my wife was treated with Ivermectin , she is now fully recovered with no overhanging effects. As for your Norway story add that to the 24 elderly that died and the 139 that were infected in an Upstate New York care home two weeks after being vaccinated. We have new variants in S.Africa and Brazil where the two largest trials took place. We have a new variant here that appeared a couple of weeks after we started our programme but were told a couple of days before Xmas that this variant had been discovered in September but miraculously it waited until the programme started to show itself.

BioNTech/Pfizer vaccine - 13 fatal 'side effects' in Norway.

"Norwegian officials have adjusted their advice on who gets the COVID-19 vaccine in light of a small number of deaths in older people, leaving it up to each doctor to consider who should be vaccinated.

The Norwegian Medicines Agency on Thursday reported a total of 29 people had suffered side effects, 13 of them fatal. All the deaths occurred among patients in nursing homes and all were over the age of 80.

The agency listed fever and nausea as side effects which “may have led to the deaths of some frail patients,” Sigurd Hortemo of the Norwegian Medicines Agency said in the body’s first report of the side effects."

the post was related to "re-infection" not a vaccine induced immune response
its not so much as the failure of a vaccine its the resultant efficacy loss

as i have previously tried to explain ... Sterilise rather than just reduce symptoms is the Holy Grail as that would induce herd Immunity

vaccines that still allow infection also allow immune escape of a chance variant

like wise reinfection of a variant keeps the ball rolling ...........


this all highlights why Scancell will remain a highly valued stock if it can induce the Potent T cells as promised

some immune compromised patients have remained infections despite some receiving 3 plasma antibody transfers for over 90 Days

Sorry have just read your 35956 - the MHRA are purely regulators, they don't design clinical trials, nor is it an issue that can be tackled by the UK alone. Suspect you touched on part of the solution yesterday - biomarkers as surrogate endpoints, perhaps combined with human challenge trials. Time will tell.

Under the circumstances its clearly in the Gov MHRA interest to design trials for second generation regardless of volunteers availability because of the complex nature of the way this infection is developing we will still be under the influence of the pandemic for at least 1/2 years these variants started to appear in the summer that's only 6 months after initial virus detection so possible major changes are occurring at a rate that is shortening the time due to the enormous amount of virus around the globe

past protocols for trials as we have seen have been accelerated beyond what ever we thought 12 months ago

The Gov is dedicating quite a bit of post brexit resource to this sector

yes I see what you mean but the Gvt's proposed action plan for vaccine rollout will reduce the availability of suitable candidates rapidly... and I have no reason to assume that they won't achieve their targets however optimistic they might seem ATM.
As I said in my edit it was an issue I'd not appreciated and so I hope that the phase 1 can be got underway rapidly so that the future development after a (hopefully) succesful phase 1 can be taken over by a Pharma with the facilities, resources and experience to follow through at pace.
Thanks for your thoughts though. Let's hope it doesn't become a problem.

ONW......I imagine that money would have an influence, if necessary.The proposed challenge trials have had no problem finding volunteers (IIRC Fergus Walsh of the BBC reported there had been 10,000 volunteers already).
