"The researchers found that the SA variant showed ‘complete escape’ from monoclonal antibodies — man-made proteins that act like human antibodies in the immune system.

Similar findings were also observed in samples containing convalescent plasma — antibody-rich plasma of someone who has recovered from coronavirus.

The study authors wrote: ‘These data highlight the prospect of reinfection with antigenically distinct variants and may foreshadow reduced efficacy of current spike-based vaccines.

Professor James Naismith, director of the Rosalind Franklin Institute, described the findings as ‘not good news but not unexpected’."

Banshee,

Wow that is even lower than I expected..and with all those side effects.

Perhaps Dr Biotech can elaborate why the efficacy is so much lower than they telegraphed.

Read that Pfizers first dose gave 52% efficacy, only 95% after second dose.
AZN/Oxford is circa 60% after first dose, 70-80% after second dose.

Apologies, as am sure most people have seen this significant news from yesterday in one form or another already, but reading through this thread to check tends to destroy my will to live.

I notice that devoid of any original thought he has resorted to reposting quotes from a fellow ramper.

As an admirer of your ability .. I have been following those in the "know" who might have captured the essence of your posts and actually reposted them on the LSE, hence forth known as the Search for Dark matter ....

Despite the involvement of Nasa etc as yet nothing ... But please don't give up posting one day you may be "discovered" ..

meanwhile . your royalties should pour in from Lego ... however they are subject to profit and loss .... as per your own delusions

A perfect example of my FACTS versus your Trype.

It's not my problem you don't understand facts and lack the intellect to argue your point in a civil manner

Thank you for your High Level, quality Post explaining your ability to grasp the concepts of Scancell science and the fact that you have been buying the share recently despite the High Risk mediocre return that you expect

we are all in awe of your skill in this matter indeed so much so Your Mathematical Model has been selected by ""Lego"" ..Called the "abstract structure" for children every where between 3/5 years

"""To achieve a share price of £20 based on sales of Covidity at £20 per shot, you would need to sell 2.25 BILLION doses (£45B worth!).

That is based on a royalty of 17.5%, a PE of 10 and GP of 25%"""

Without a specific monitoring over the next year of those receiving two doses you will not know if the vaccine "sterilises" unfortunately in this instance presumptions are not an indicator of sterilisation, and because of the variants now appearing that efficacy of high antibody levels, although sounds fantastic might carry a % that are ineffective which starts to lower the efficacy of the vaccine

so monitor or challenge trial = proof

Scancell also targets the "N" a conserved area of the Virus which is common across Covid 19 variants

As mentioned by Inan before, an incomplete matter with all the vaccines atm, does the 'disinfectant' factor exist - i.e. are the vaccinated still able to transmit the disease or not ? Exciting early indications from Israel regarding the BioNTech/Pfizer vaccine . . .

"Pfizer vaccine recipients are unlikely to transmit the virus to others, according to the author of an Israeli study. Participants in the survey developed up to 20 times more antibodies within a week of receiving the second dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine.

The survey, which reviewed data from 102 of about 1,000 of the Sheba Medical Centre’s medical staff who have received both shots, showed that only two subjects have developed low amounts of antibodies - one of the subjects suffered from a compromised immune system. There was no explanation for why the second person did not develop antibodies, and the hospital said it was investigating the matter.

The rest - 98 per cent - have developed levels of antibodies that were even higher than patients who have recovered from a serious coronavirus-induced condition, the hospital said in a statement released on Monday."

We can but hope that the same will be true for the other main vaccines.

TF, There are 300 vaccines being developed. If only 10% succeed that will be 30! Don't forget developing a vaccine against a virus is easy as some here have told us. I want Scancell to succeed in this and the cancer treatments and believe they have every chance of doing so. But it is NOT risk free and every report of a new variant is NOT a buy signal. Just trying to add balance to the blatant ramping!

You're welcome Gazza. Returning the compliment, your 36087 struck a chord for me yesterday, pondering that, after 10 years of breathless faith in Scancell's science, we are in reality still awaiting that commercial breakthrough . . .

Re. 'Covidity'

"IF it gets into trials
IF it generates an immune response
IF it passes phase 3 trials
IF it gets approved
IF there aren't another 100 products like it IF/when it does."

Maybe 100 products is OTT but say 10. Never mind, the science is seeing us through but as ever, not quite just yet. ATB

Inan,

"You now cannot dispute the value of Covidity if it does generate an immune response against the conserved area of the Virus .........."
Yes,
IF it gets into trials
IF it generates an immune response
IF it passes phase 3 trials
IF it gets approved
IF there aren't another 100 products like it IF/when it does.

"another very serious Buy Signal"
No, a buy signal would be "Scancell's Covidity approved for use in UK/USA/Europe"
