Certainly highlights the need to ring fence the asset and have non-performance clauses attached to any debt taken on.

Wildcat receives TOP LEVEL approval from the South Sudanese Ministry of Petroleum ("MOP")

Wildcat is pleased to announce that it has passed a due diligence process conducted by the South Sudanese Ministry of Petroleum (MOP). This process included the evaluation of the Company's technical competency as well as its financial capability to complete a major multi-million/billion dollar oil production purchase. This clearance is required from the MOP before Wildcat can undertake any petroleum deal in the country including the purchase of large scale oil production.

Financial backing for the potential purchase of any production in South Sudan is been provided by a number of industry investors, including The Waterford Group.

Radio Tamajuzi No mention. Lead article is Sudanese Army General - no negotiations with political wing of militia. 17 th February. He clarified. The army will not shift focus to the political arena until all aspects of the military files are resolved. He highlighted that ". the army is proactively taking the lead and making substantial progress across all military operation zones. " Please DYOR.

Likewise- Google failed to find anything. Also the article has it dated the 12th. Surely it would have been news everywhere by now the 18th..

Wrt our refinancing issues.... we are far from being alone.

Given a rather simplistic view on this, with the expected reduction in petroleum imports due to refineries coming back on line and the cost of production of goods going down in dollar terms ( the local labour cost etc, not imported raw materials). Surely at some point exports will increase thus stabilisation of the currency. The question is when...

Yeah, let's wait another year until re-listing, and then the entire debt will be repaid.

It must be a temptation not to rush SS completion with the cost of the purchase rducing every day!

Just food for thought!

I bet AK is also negotiating another deal,in the background for 2 reasons, if the S.S deal falls through, I would imagine this next asset as a back up will be in a better country in Africa. So backup required in case the deal don`t go through.

Also just imagine if the S.S deal goes through, and we start trading with a much bigger market cap and everything is in place we could annouce the other deal and no need for suspension as it should not be bigger than our current Mcap after S.S.

Assuming this is the outcome, and S.S completes sometime this year we could be picking up another asset shortly after and if this was being discussed in 2023 there could and should be an affective date from beggining of Jan 2023 or July 2023.

Yes you are all correct I have my Rose Tinted Glasses on! it`s the weekend :)

‘This date was mentioned to me by David Clarkson at the AGM but he did say he was not certain of it which I found very strange for a director to say - although he is definitely only a back seat passenger nowadays.’

I met David when the AGMs were held in the City. Later, when they switched to E14 a friend and I said it was poor behaviour for the CEO to be absent at an AGM because he was ‘busy in Niger and then Nigeria’ To my surprise he actually agreed. Maybe he was already planning to take a step back from the board. An educated chap I seem to remember.

Maybe MT, or possibly just the headlights of an oncoming train.

Andrewsr - I think from past statements made by the Super Major Oil cos and some NOCs that these small assets in geopolitically difficult countries are viewed as non core assets, taking up masses amounts of management and corporate departments (finance, personnel dept, legal rep risk etc) time - both locally in country and at head office - remember they’ll have full multi departmental internal support for each country / assets. As well as enormous reputational risk - see western companies’ history in Chad
Selling these non core assets and re-deploying the capital into core assets is only a small part of the reason to sell.
It’s the opportunity of relieving the cost of management time and rep risk that drives the sale.
A work out arrangement for sale until close of sale is the only equitable and practical way of these companies exiting and a new acquirer coming in.
