I think he's unlikely to want to 'ruin' the company bearing in mind it's historic links with his family name......

'or he is planning to asset strip it and dump it.'

Wealthy people don't get wealthy by throwing their money around.
Either RdeH sees it as a recovery play and will make a shed load or he is planning to asset strip it and dump it.
Also, if you see a big Chinese investor coming in, get out quick. It will do a Thomas Cook!

Colonel A, are you able to elaborate on that?

At this price it's good value for the solid insurance business with the travel side thrown in for free as Covid recovery play as vaccines kick-in from Q4 2020 onwards.

Lots of opportunity for conspiracy theorists here.
Sir RdH's position is very interesting, with almost 10% of the company in swing depending on whether people take up the open offer.

If you buy shares under the offer, will they be subject to consolidation like the largest part of my investment ?

I've always found saga extremely competitive for my car insurance. Just renewed, used compare the markets for comparison, Saga were £20 more expensive, but a much better product. (Ie includes legal protection, much better windscreen cover). Plus I had a claim, not my fault, several years ago and Saga were superb, fabulous replacement car, no problems with the repair. You get what you pay for.

I have always thought saga were a rip off company, getting older people to buy the products for the simple reason older people may stay loyal.i found most things they sell are always dearer, always had fun checking prices just for my satifacton.Down to at best 8p but how quickly will it get there???

Exactly the wash rinse and spin cycle has to restart from higher up for a Brucie bonus...be it 185p or 200p or 225p...

But that's from the investor's point of view about their current cash, and doesn't take account of the company's needs.

If the company doesn't get the money, the existing shareholding won't be worth much - so holders need to cough up to protect what they have.

Although that said, I assume it is underwritten?

As per the initial announcement, I can't see that any of this does anything except buy them more time. Worth a try, or good money after bad?

As I suggested previously the placing could be an absolute waste of time and money for investors. Now at 12.8 pence with the placing at 12p. Good chance of buying these at 11-12p without the need for taking up the offer

Reality hurts...lose 92% of value since IPO then ask for more money...wider shareholders only there as money tree...during the 92% loss journey down the BOD never thought of raising the money until now...because zero is that much closer...
