I suggest deliberately close to enjoy the brand halo from sfe. although sone will find the concept of a glazing company having a halo, laughable.

Aren't the names a bit too similar?

The lawyers must have said ok.

I believe their business leaders and some team members exited safestyle. presumably without a non compete clause in their contracts. and with full knowledge of how sfe do business. no doubt sfe lawyers have given this the once over and concluded no worthwhile action.

a review on the web i found:

Hi xxx, SafeGlaze UK have no links with Safestyle. We're a completely separate company. There is no shared ownership, no partnership or monetary connection. Our windows come from a different manufacturer, which is why we're able to offer a 15 year guarantee over safestyle's 10. Our head office is based down the road from Safestyle's in Bradford and that's the closest our company is to them. Our competitors are scared and so they should be. We offer a better product and provide a...

Is this the competitor?

If so, that's going to be a problem, IMO.

They promise to beat quotes.

Once people have their glazing done, it's years before they do it again.

So the business that is lost to safeglaze will be gone for a very long time.

What will SFE do?

Reading through the posts, Safeglaze have been put forward as the aggressive new entrant. Companies House shows Niamac Developments t/a Safeglaze UK was incorporated on 21st August 2017. So they've been in existence for 6 months and are already causing problems?
Anyone with any info?

Very disappointing update this morning and so early in 2018. Clearly its now a value stock. I must admit being a bit baffled with this one having bought originally at 165p. It was a great little business, but seems to be really struggling of late. I'm not sure that I have done anything wrong other than maybe not exiting at the first warning, but I don't think anyone would have expected the repeated warnings that followed. This one is definitely the worst warning. Oh well, the dividend is still good and its got a strong balance sheet. I'm going to hold in here for better times. Will probably be a good buy when, and if, it finally turns around. Does anyone have some industry intelligence as to what is happening?

RNS TU out:

The activities of an aggressive new market entrant have added to an already competitive landscape and impacted the Group in certain areas of its operations. As a result, the Group's order intake in 2018 to date has been disappointing and below our expectations.

Seriously Shaker44, All those who have gone, are top sales, top canvesser's top surveyors..etc. All gone to the new competitor, who are already tv advertising! It's a forced restructure, and the cost base is still the same!
. although it's not all doom and gloom, that sort of upheaval takes some time to sort out, the share price can really only go one way for now.imho...[don't hold , never will]

ADVFN is no church!, However there have been posts over the years
that have saved me a lot of money.

I have no more idea than anyone else here in what the next update,
or the one after that, will say. Just thought it was interesting
those sales took place following an already dramatic fall in the share price

Luck to anyone holding, I have no short position here and neither do I
go short individual shares.

Definately don't have or will ever have shares in Safestyle, and yes my comments were quite genuine...and i guess it was out of altruism...sometimes there doesn't have to be a motive. if you keep seeing me posting negative stuff, you might think differently, but that won't happen,I just think they have some work to do to steady the ship....especially if some of the main crew members have left the ship. !! I actually have reasons for the company's continued success [not shares] but i think if you don't have the right people in the right places,it could unravel quite quickly.
