Post year end:

a) 1.3M profit on Hercules disposal

b) Paid 756,000 for 1.26M of own shares at 60p

NTAV (mostly property) works out now as 103p if you take into account these 2 transactions.

Tecc-is looks like it will be very good for us.
I am a bit surprised that following on the succesful exit from Hercules and the ever strengthening share price in Bizspace that the market has not given this a bit of a re rating

I'm still in, watching and reading.

Net asset still well above current price, with the Hercules profit still to come in the next results, the future looks good.

This Italian thing "Espacia" is beginning to look interesting. Dont worry about the losses. Thats a fact of life in setting up self storage operations. In fact a loss of this magnitude means they are beginning to put real resources into it. At one stage they had 2 centres in Milan and one in Rome. That was 12 months ago . I dont think they have bought anything since but maybe someone else would know.

I get estates gazette but didnt see the article.
I would imagine the excitement will come in tecc-is.

See there is an article in Estates Gazette this week (+pictures) on Larry Lipman and what he's going to do now he has time on his hands. It talks about Larry Lipman entering into the auctioneer market. Maybe this is the new direction of Safeland/Tec-IS. Talks about Larry actively looking at a few opportunities. Things could be about to get a bit more interesting!

bought a few more yesterday at 58p. I particularily like espacio if that is how you spell it- the self storage in Italy.

Lets hope they just pick up a few shares here and there.
A slow increase in the Lipman holding will heip us holders and the share price I suspect.

Yes, sure the cash belongs to Safeland. They could organise a tender offer though! I also am inclined to agree with you - I think that this company will stay listed for at least a couple more years.

I doubt it. I understand their long term intention is probably to take it private but Espazio the italian self storage business needs money to grow.
I think they will keep chipping away at the shareholder base. After all there is nothing wrong in so far as they are concerned in buying £1. for .60p is there.
On a purely practical front the hercules proceeds belong to safeland and not to the lipmans.

Yes, they could take control of this group with the Hercules cash if they were so inclined. But are they?

After the buy back there will be just over 18.4m ordinary shares.

The Lipman controlled Safeland Holdings Corp, Lipman individual
stakes plus other Directors hold 11.9m = 65%.

So outside shareholders hold only 6.5m now

Thanks Jeff.

What about the size of the Lipman's holding.

I'd be looking for at least 85p in a buyout....Biz and future venture
fund raising would be given the cold shoulder by the City otherwise.

Whether it's a buy-out or a continuing story we'll have to wait and
see.

Yes, but do they want Safeland to remain a listed company or not. They might! Two options:

1. Buy out the minority shareholders and go private - we wouldn't get much more than 60p.

2. Continue as a listed company with a small free float and use as a vehicle to "spin-out" new ventures and as the stable for "Lipman enterprises".

Which will it be?

the lipmans clearly want to buy this back-cheap!

tecc-is/going private/dividend restoration...we'll have to wait and
see.

Can't see the divi returning at the Interims.....they'll say they are
continuing buybacks.

There are no big holders anymore...Chalfords was the last non-Lipman
big holder

The Lipmans seem to be in "cashing-up mode". Safeland and Hercules Property to date. They have even sold three Bizspace properties. I'm not sure where it's all leading, but one thing is for sure, they generally seem to know when is the right time to sell/buy is. Safeland is a bit of a mystery these days. Once they have bought out all the big holders, it's either 1. Go Private or 2. Time for the company to start paying dividends again. Personally, I don't want this company to be taken out. Quite confident that SAF will out-perform the markets in terms of NAV grwoth in the long term. Whether or not the likes of you and me will be able to participate is another question altogether.

Plenty of cash to reduce shares in issue.
Asset value looks to be £1.10 a share so we are still 50%.

Going private looks a real prospect.
Does anyone have a list of current shareholdings over 3%.

Hope we get more than 60p, as that would be rather disappointing.
