I quite agree withyou. I will not be selling for 54p. I am looking forward tosee what they propose for tecc-is and I think biz is already a winner -see todays announcment for example

It's all disclosed in the accounts - yes, I think that there is a chance that this will go private, but that's been the case for a few years now and it hasn't happened.

Yes, can't be many willing sellers left though. I won't sell for 54p!

Simon. No ideas. Did either of you two check out the dealings at the time?

what price was the really big buy back they did, wasn't it 50p? surely it wasn't 60p?

anyway it seems fair enough, I daresay it is not too high by any conservative formula for valuing this sort of company. The nav per share has gone up very nicely I seem to recall from my last look at 'news'

I don't think so - I think it's either the LSE, AIM or going private imo. OFEX is a bit of a downward move for these guys.

With the changes to OFEX a move there would be cheaper alternative.
The current discount to asset value must tempt the Lipmans to increase their holding.

hybrasil - Hi - we seem to follow each other around on property stocks. Do you think the Lipmans will take this one off the market or carry on? - looks like the share buy backs have dried-up and so I guess it is decision time for them. A transfer to AIM would probably be sensible. I would like them to stay a listed company, but after the last year or two I am not sure now.

I agree - a take out price would be 60p or so imo, but the upside is if this co. remains a listed company. When market conditions improve for property trading, these guys will make serious money as they are very strong opportunistic buyers and sellers.

Only downside is that the co. is run like a private co. and the directors take home a very very sizeable "pay packet".

Hybrasil,

Thank you for that. The mkt cap is currently £11m approx. The Net assets are £19m and the net asset value per share is 91p approx. What are the downside factors producing fair value of 58p?

The company has been buying its shares admittedly vey few recently.
They have not been shy to pay above the prevailing market price witness their purchase of TR Investments stake. The current price is probably fair value.

When global growth picks up later this year, investors could profit a great deal from overseas companies. To invest wisely in today's economy; you need info on stocks from all over the world. Even small events in the world can affect or alter our investments. That's why, with the help of this true gem, you will get firsthand information on undervalued stocks which are about to move. They have a great track record and will email you only when there is something worth mentioning. You will not receive any junk mail and it will not cost you anything. These shares are traded exclusively in the US markets.

A dividend would be welcome, I am sure they could find a small return, in the next set of full results.
Would help the share price I'm sure.

However judging by the chairmans statement, I don't see a dividend coming.
More likely to see them using any spare cash to buy back more of their own shares.

Do you think Safeland is going to go private? It's all been a bit on the quiet side over the last couple of years. Personally, I am happy to hold, but would welcome a return to the dividend list. Can't see it going much above 60p for a while unless we get something new happening.
