19/7/2011 02:21 | topvest........ he sure does. | thupton
13/7/2011 07:33 | thupton - lol...has he really? | topvest
12/7/2011 23:58 | ydderf I would...... pay myself £750k a year, have lovely yellow Ferrari with the number plate Enzo courtesy the company...... aw shucks L Lipman already does that | thupton
12/7/2011 15:32 | what would you do if you were directors, already interested in a substantial amount of equity of a tiny quoted property company, trading at a 80% discount to NAV, and with an interest in a new joint venture? call me old-fashioned, but personally I would choose to pay mayself nothing and take a huge interest in the future with share options, priced while the share price was still in the toilet..... but what do i know? | ydderf
08/7/2011 21:19 | hybrasil - yes, I've got a few left as well. They just seemed to have given up on the corporate front - Safestore, Bizspace and Hercules Property were great...but they seem to have run out of ideas or the drive to make ideas work. They just seem to take the money and run! | topvest
08/7/2011 09:24 | Not so much for the chairman but for the lipmans. I would guess the banks or their accountants told them to stop accruing their unpaid salaries. I have about 200k shares bought in the 40p range many years ago. I made a lot of money from safestore and their new project could do well. Its now a long time since they did anything well on the corporate front. Maybe Larry is just getting too old? | hybrasil
08/7/2011 08:01 | poor company run for the chairman | crawford
26/5/2011 16:01 | 2,625 sold @ 11p on PLUS this morning; suggests they don't want stock - probably bored to death waiting for something meaningful to happen ( like me ! ). | the troll
26/5/2011 09:32 | Falling today, any news? | crawford
14/2/2011 17:32 | this will, eventually, de-list as PROP's just done except they won't offer you anything near 14.5p ps. | the troll
10/12/2010 13:19 | Of course they can - personally, I think these are going to 1p or so. I can't bring myself to sell though, just in case! Once the funds are depleted, no doubt they will use the vehicle as a shell or introduce a new business strategy. Very poor! | topvest
10/12/2010 11:18 | oh so whats the nav now and what was it before they all got their salaries. I keep thinking they can't get any lower! | dupree
03/12/2010 12:59 | "Since the period end there has not been any sign of an improvement in market conditions however Safeland remains well positioned to take advantage of any opportunities as they arise. Raymond Lipman Chairman" What a load of rubbish - Raymond Lipman comes up with the same rubbish every time - well positioned to take advantage of exactly what opportunities?! Endless losses...endless excessive salaries...until there is nothing left. At one time Larry Lipman was good. They seem to be just taking a free ride now! | topvest
03/12/2010 11:36 | Well, it's consistent. | crawford
19/11/2010 14:07 | I suppose I should post my monthly post here, wake me up when something happens. | crawford
07/10/2010 16:32 | Quite a disasterous share price performance. | crawford
27/8/2010 22:12 | Well Azil Nadir is back, similarly repleat with concern for himself (and none for his former shareholders) Old Lippo loathes the small punters equally so the only saving grace is both will soon be dead, you only have to look at them, one foot in the ground...'orrible old wasters | mryesyes
25/8/2010 07:49 | Annual report arrived - unqualified audit report was good news and no covenant breaches in the year. The irritation imo is the directors' emols of £1,768k; e.g. Larry Lipman £443k salary (last year £443k), benefits £129k (last year £246k), bonus £17k (last year £14k). Just what car has a benefit of £129k? - Ferrari 599, Lambo or Bugatti may just about get there! But, they deferred some of this - £659k accrued. Presumably, because the company couldn't afford to pay. Couldn't they just have taken a real pay cut! This could be a nice little company if the directors just took a sensible monthly salary. I still think they would have delisted before now if that was their plan; maybe they have a master plan, but good old Raymond Lipman can't articulate one, other than "I therefore remain optimistic of the long term future". What for the shareholders? or for the directors? I, as I suspect others, have grown increasingly frustrated with the Lipman's over the years. Maybe something good will happen, but somehow it just seems to get gradually worse. | topvest
24/8/2010 18:16 | This is a Lipman's private company in all but name, the only reason they are pretending to only own 29.9% as a family is that Safeland 2008 does not have to disclose it Lipman links apart from wives 145% gearing and 56p net asset value means the plc has debts that the private company -to follow- avoids if they cant raise more capitalthis quarter this will delist into a private limited company | mryesyes
02/8/2010 08:47 | Yes, but they need to change their business model and cut admin expenses further. Looks like admin expenses are £1.6m versus £2.2m in H1 so that's a start! I've been very disappointed in the Lipmans over the last 5 years - no ideas, no profits, massive salaries pretty much sums it up. Maybe they have spent all their time trying to keep their empire afloat. Maybe they are just having a good time on their very large salaries. Who knows? Probably the former, but it would be nice to see them be a little more adventurous now that markets are turning. Turning Safeland into a managed workspace fund would be a nice start. | topvest
02/8/2010 08:08 | Yes H1 loss £0.9m so H2 loss only small. | jeff h
02/8/2010 07:41 | Results out and although the loss is greater the future is looking a little brighter and the portfolio valuation is rising. These are at the bottom now and should slowly rise. | battlebus
15/7/2010 13:39 | Unusual, where's the results? - always in June if I recall correctly. Can buy at the 16p mid-price so just bought some for a punt. | jeff h
23/4/2010 18:54 | Another slight rise on a small buy all looks good especially after a couple of larger sales. Backwoodsman you will soon be in profit. | battlebus |
