I think I'm getting confused between a full year dividend and a final dividend.

Jan 22, Interim dividend: 6.7p
Jan 22, Special dividend: 20.0p
Sept 22, Final dividend: 13.3p

Good luck everyone, Sid.

The profit guidance of £500 million refers only to Royal Mail You need to add on GLS .The first half Royal Mail figure was 235. These figures are mentioned in the text, rather than in the tables.

Yes that was in the last announcement too.

Full year ordinary dividend 20p
Special dividend 20p

Total to shareholders 40p in the financial year period

They say this in the body of the announcement:-

· pay a progressive ordinary dividend from a 20 pence per share base

Yes, 20p what I was thinking for a special dividend, Moorsie2.

However, although the company state £200m special to be paid alongside the interim there is no mention that it will actually be 20p. and payable on 12th Jan.

One thing they do say, hidden in the announcement, is the interim is set at one third of the final, so expect a final divi for 2021/22 of 20p.

I hope they're not getting confused with special/final payments?

Good luck everyone, Sid.

Careful - yes a billion or so shares in issue ... so 200m would be 20p

So the combination of sharebuy back and special Div should be worth circa 40p to the share price. Also confirmation of confidence in funding investment from cash flows is a major positive announcement.

Still puzzled by H2 profit forecast though....

Circa 20p a share it looks like.

I do not understand full year operating profit guidance.... only 500m!? That means H2 this year is a disaster compared to H1 this year and especially compared to H2 last year.... what am I missing?

As a first step, we intend to return GBP400 million of capital to shareholders, via a share buyback and special dividend. A GBP200 million share buyback will commence immediately and is due to complete ahead of the AGM in July 2022. Reflecting our large retail shareholder base, including many of our colleagues, a special dividend of GBP200 million will be paid alongside the interim dividend of 6.7 pence per share on 12 January 2022.Ex-dividend date 2 December 2021 Dividend record date 3 December 2021 Dividend payment date 12 January 2022 Q3 trading update 10 February 2022Nice!!

Looks like a good set of numbers.

Let's see how the boys in the city react to a return of 400 million to shareholders?

Special dividend of 200 Mill ;-)

Interim results are due to be released tomorrow, looking for revenue around the £6,135m area, anything more would be good news for the share price.

Good luck everyone, Sid.

Down over 30% in last few months.
Topped up today.

This should be a steady boring share.
A company that is easy to understand.

But very volatile, undervalued.

Trading volume heavily weighted towards the buy side, £2m to £1m shares purchased to shares sold……but we’re almost 3% down……good work market makers.
