01/2/2018 14:58 | That's a massive rise in operating profits, above the 2015-2016 level which was around 740mln. Last year much less of course. Above the 2014-2015 level as well - is it the highest since float ? | yump
01/2/2018 13:48 | There we go !!! | europa79
01/2/2018 13:20 | Profits up. Big Divi coming | encarter
01/2/2018 12:29 | No damaging strike. Reason prevails. | oiht
01/2/2018 12:20 | No they have 3 parcel divisions. Royal mail, parcel force, international. All are run separately. They could sell off parcel force. News is out, deal is done. | encarter
01/2/2018 11:25 | I have to agree with 'exotic'. If they sell off the parcel business, which is where all of the future growth is going to be, then what are they left with - delivering junk mail? | slaccs
01/2/2018 11:22 | Another Spanish acquisition. | oiht
01/2/2018 09:28 | If the union recommend the deal then it will be accepted. The biggest expense to Royal Mail was the db pension and they have escaped it. | encarter
01/2/2018 09:08 | On the look out for any announcement. Terry Pullinger appears to be quite positive on the CWU website but I hope the company hasn't conceded too much. In any case it has to be put to the members yet. | oiht
31/1/2018 11:16 | Up she goes. I guess the Union meeting has started well. | eaaxs06
31/1/2018 08:27 | Union meeting today to to rubber stamp the deal | encarter
27/1/2018 10:00 | Parcels is where the growth is - selling that off would be just weird. | yump
26/1/2018 22:09 | I can't see that happening. If their parcel business is really going to be sold off then RMG is finished. | exotic
25/1/2018 16:50 | Yes. Plenty of good news on the way. They are writing up the deal with the union which will be announced shortly. It includes an affordable pension. However it requires new legislation which might take several years. While they get it sorted royal mail's original proposal will be adopted which is even more affordable. Parcel volumes are increasing faster than letters are declining. Internet shopping is set to grow massively over the next few years. Should be a bumper Divi coming. Their parcel business is up for sale under the table with a couple of interested parties. If they could pull a deal off it would be massive for shareholders with the only stumbling block being the union. Any deal would be put to a vote by postie's so it would depend on what sweetener they were offered. | encarter
25/1/2018 13:03 | Looks like it might make a break for freedom soon... | yump
25/1/2018 11:26 | Strange how quiet this thread has gone since the price started to recover. | grahamite2
24/1/2018 15:20 | Is Mr. Countrywrong really Mr. Royal Mailright ??? | europa79
18/1/2018 13:17 | ......then again, perhaps not!! Results were OK but I expected better | europa79
17/1/2018 12:29 | Mmmmmmmmmmm | neilyb675
17/1/2018 08:12 | It looks like the dispute is sorted and royal mail have got their way regarding future pension payments. Should be a bumper Divi on the way | encarter
16/1/2018 17:58 | Looking good ... perhaps a test of 500 before end of month after results this week | europa79
09/1/2018 08:08 | Positive update after close today. | encarter |
