03/12/2019 12:30 | delphs - its called the civil service regardless of who is in Power. I am amazed you were dealing with DWP directly and not a local GP and then hospital which then filters into varioous central gov departments Anyway, you are confusing gov't with civil service - who are a pain and jobs for life brigade! | cfc1
03/12/2019 12:25 | Labour will be worse. For everything | tfergi
03/12/2019 11:46 | cfc1 I was always conservative, Today I've changed my mind. so if I'm of a strange mind, then that strange mind was for your party before. Unfortunately they let me down badly and its only when you need the services do you actually realise how bad the government is. Even nearly all there departments are outsourced and when a mistake happens they say is not us. lol so you send to DWP a sick note and its gets messed up filed in the wrong office, nothing happens for weeks and then they say you can escalate, then nothing happens for weeks like 8 weeks at a time. then they say we will escalate out escalation and then nothing happens, eventually they sort it saying its some other company who runs that department taking no ownership for the fact that they brought in that company to perform a task paid for by them. Then they tell you they will send some one round to see you and at the end of it they say your able to walk and raise your hand in the air you not entitled to any help because your illness isnt covered and you can lift up a pan and walk to your door, you might be in total pain but because your body moves thats it and if they had come round in the beginning 6 months earlier you was bed ridden it would have been even worse. But they say they cannot see what you was like then so you cannot have anything back dated as they are unable to see it. Every single goverment department I have had to deal with was a mess and sent things to wrong ares, took 2 3 times the time to sort out that it should have and If I hadnt of pushed and pushed they would have never sorted any thing, What they are good at is sending you a fine. When I signed off sick and went back to work I sent in my Return to work note. I received a receipt. I later received a phone call saying I need to go for a physical to see If I was really sick or pretending. I said, I'm back at work and they apologised and sorted there records. A Month later I received a letter saying you did not inform us that you had returned to work, civil penalty charge £50. so I complained and told them I have a receipt. I received a letter back saying dont pay anything yet, we may have put you on the incorrect benefit and you dont have to pay anything, dont pay this money, but you may still owe this money. And I kid you not this is every time I have to do anything with councils NHS goverment, Doctors are a nightmare, and they dont take ownership of your illness, I was told I knew more than he did in one surgery. waiting list are killing people. benefits are killing people because they are to low you cannot afford to use utilities. spend the day in the libruary to keep warm. fortunatley Ive had a good life in IT and I was ok because I could look after myself and I could afford to pay for Private medical care, but there are many who cannot. so if you want to die when you need medical help keep conservative | delphiman
03/12/2019 11:33 | delphs let me be a bit clearer for you. Its really DEAD simple. If we hadnt let so many people into the UK (and your dear Labour party will increase numbers) then the NHS wouldnt be trying to deal with the massive numbers in the UK now. Thats wy the NHS cant cope! | cfc1
03/12/2019 11:29 | gcom2 This government nearly killed me, so If its up to the conservatives I wouldn't be alive to cry. | delphiman

01/12/2019 17:24 | Ambrose Evans-Pritchard 1 DECEMBER 2019 • 5:00PM Goldman Sachs is betting on a “Boris boom” and a surge of foreign fund flows into Britain if the election delivers a clear outcome, propelling faster economic growth through the early 2020s than in the struggling eurozone. The US investment bank expects a “Brexit Breakthrough” and a catch-up surge in undervalued UK assets as one of its top seven trade ideas for 2020, advising clients to take the plunge on sterling and beaten-down equities in the domestic sector. | leedskier
01/12/2019 16:45 | Electoral Calculus have updated their prediction to take account of all the weekend polls - CON maj 34. We've seen that number before from them. Breakdown - 342-225-15-45 There's some speculation that Swinson could lose her seat, but if she can't do better than mid-teens, she may feel obliged to quit as leader anyway. Do politicians still do that? I don't think Blow Jo did himself any favours on Marr this morning, lying repeatedly and trying to talk non-stop rather than let Marr put questions. Neil would eat him for breakfast, as he did with Corbyn. | polar fox
01/12/2019 10:47 | Quite appalling behaviour by Andrew Marr. Teddy Bears thrown out of the cot. | leedskier
