DM:

Boris Johnson won't say if partner Carrie Symonds will move into 10 Downing Street with him if he becomes prime minister because he says it is too 'presumptuous'.

After he spilt the red wine and she shouted "get out of my flat!", you don't have to be too bright to see how the lying rat will most likely decide. Until then, it's weasel words, something in which he excels.

Possibly, or a cup and handle. It needs to go to 232 first, then correct, then move up again. Worth keeping an eye on, for a potential target around 254, IF it unfolds as outlined.

This ties in with our thinking.

FT:

Tory MPs on autumn election alert

Johnson says he doesn’t want to go to the polls but Brexit failure could force his hand.

Britain’s dominant services sector all but stagnated in June amid Brexit uncertainty and fears for the global economy. IHS Markit’s Purchasing Managers Index unexpectedly fell to 50.2. It followed weak readings for manufacturing and construction, suggesting the economy has slipped into contraction

Boris Johnson, the favorite to be the next U.K. prime minister, has pledged he’ll launch a review of “sin taxes” on salt, fat and sugar, a signal that he wants to adopt an economically liberal approach after years in which government tried to clamp down on unhealthy behavior...

Guess the China commie resident knows a thing or two ahead of time...;)

Both are unwelcome and unhealthy developments respectively....

less than 5 weeks to RBS Q2 and news on forward divi's 2nd half could finally see a return to share price growth. Brexit hopefully gets sorted. Divi annouced and we should then see rapid share price climb.

Good to see that another "remain communist" survived last night ....

One of the cabinet’s most prominent opponents of a no-deal Brexit has survived a no-confidence vote.

David Gauke, the pro-Remain justice minister who represents South West Hertfordshire, faced his local Conservative Association on Friday.

He tweeted his thanks to members, who voted two-to-one against the motion, which had the backing of pro-Brexit campaign group Leave.EU.

He said: ”Tonight, I argued that: We should not allow the party to be taken over by entryists. We should be a broad church. No deal would be immensely damaging to the UK.

“I defeated a motion of no confidence 123 to 61. I am grateful to the members of my association for their support.”

Reference your photo, leeds, one reporter on WATO earlier, gathered a group of 17 and 18-yr old members, who attended the hustings and listened to the two candidates. They variously had items on display supporting either BJ or JH. At the end, the reporter asked them how they intend to vote; the score was 5 for JH, 1 for BJ and 1 undecided. The reporter simply said "interesting".

Much can happen in the next four weeks, of course.

This photograph taken of a queue forming this morning to the tory party hustings in Exeter, if representative of the paid up members, explains why the Tories will struggle to win the next election.
