In case anyone hasn't seen it.

"Royal Bank of Scotland warned uncertainty over Brexit would make trading more difficult as falling revenue drove a 16% fall in first-quarter profit. Operating profit before tax for the three months to the end of March dropped to £1.01bn from £1.21bn a year earlier as total income fell to £3.04bn from £3.30bn."

cant believe the drop. OK missed on profit but who hasnt recently. But the drop seems over done to me. No wonder the CEO has resigned. From an share price perspective alone he has failed investors.

I agree polar fox, a bit lean looking and outlook not exactly bursting with enthusiasm either, can't see market loving it. Having said that, the share price will now go up just to be contrarian!

Just a quick look, as I have to go out. But can't say I'm much impressed, on several aspects.

The dividend consensus has been steady around 12p for weeks, but it will require an attributable profit of something like £1bn a quarter to achieve that, I believe. So it will be interesting to see whether the consensus shifts in the weeks ahead.

Overall, I doubt the market is going to be best pleased.

Nothing unusual or unexpected in the AGM voting numbers, even on the remuneration front.

Let's see what the Q1 numbers look like tomorrow.

hmm if Alison Rose becomes CEO I think it will be excellent for the share price - she is massively regarded in the city and seen as a 'high flyer'

CityAM seems to think that RM may have resigned ahead of the AGM because:

Investors have been urged to vote against RBS’s remuneration report, with shareholder advisory group Pirc describing McEwan’s £3.6m pay package as “excessive.221;

Shareholder rights group ShareSoc also criticised the New Zealander’s pension add-ons - 35 per cent of his salary compared to 10 per cent for all other employees - as “nonsense.R21;

well I am amazed at the resignation - especially now. I wonder what the AGM will throw up. Seems v strange timing as the bank turns the corner.

Shame the CEO left as he was adamant he wasn't going. If you're not vote to pay the man then l guess you leave.

Director Change

RBS announces that Ross McEwan has resigned from his role as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Executive Director.

Ross has a 12 month notice period and will remain in his position until a successor has been appointed and an orderly handover has taken place. The effective date of his departure will be confirmed in due course.
