30/11/2016 20:14 | n the latest round of stress tests, the Bank of England said it’s modeling another 40 billion pounds ($50 billion) of misconduct costs over the next four years, and warned that sum could rise if new issues come to light. In 2015 misconduct provisions eliminated 15 billion pounds of pretax profit, about half the total generated across the industry. The largest outstanding misconduct investigation relates to the selling of toxic U.S. mortgage securities, which analysts estimate could cost Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc alone more than 8 billion pounds. | leedskier

30/11/2016 12:03 | It might change wind if Trump has his way. Needs someone with balls to do it. If it causes risk that could cause another credit crunch who cares, i'm only here to make money short term. | smurfy2001
30/11/2016 11:58 | Gcom2, Thanks. Thing is, as things stand, I'd expect another stress-test next year and the year after... Just cranking up the imagined-stress (such that some fail every year), seems to be a long-winded way of achieving not very much. What's the strategy here? I'd assume the banks will still be unloved this time next year - which is why I hesitate to invest. The regulatory wind needs change direction before I'd take a position. | blusteradjuster
