FTSE is a commodity type index so makes sense. Banks across Europe in the spotlight again, but traders continue to take the no risk because CB's will bail us all out, which is a fair assumption these days

Poland is another country which has moved politically to the right. The PM is a lady with a PhD. Very smart. One if the first things she did was remove the EU flag from her press conferences. As the leader of the law and justice party, she firmly believes in Poland's constitutional powers and promptly replaced the judges of the constitutional court who did not align with her views. That caused a bit of a feather flutter in Brussels.

They all do it, but some have an eye for the main chance.

Poland is a good example.

Sure. One member one vote. But there is a difference between voting down others policies and getting one's own policies supported.

Let us be real. There are only 5.6million Danes. In W2 Germany rolled them up in 6 hours. Hardly going to make much of dint politically in Merkel's armour in any debate.

Denmark was playing both sides of the street (same as everybody else)

Did they really think the game could go on forever?

I read yesterday that Denmark is very despondent over Britain leaving the EU. This has nothing to do with its bacon exports to Britain. It is because like Britain, Denmark was a Euro refusnik. It used to join forces with the Brits to give Hollande and Merkel six of the best at these heads of states meetings. Now it is looking for a new ally.

So they have agreed to cut daily oil production by a bit under 1%.
How do they measure it so accurately.
That does not include the largest producer, America, they are above such things.

Saudi Arabia's troubles do not end with the oil situation. This legislation passed last night could rupture the the US/Saudi Arabia relationship in a way which harms it more than the USA.

The big loser in this oil farce is Saudi Arabia and not just economically.

The tacit admission that its economy is being hit harder than US shale oil producers by low oil prices brings with it a loss of face which could ultimately bring changes in the way that the country is governed.

The young Crown Prince who divised this pump at will strategy aided and abetted by the former oil minister Ali al-Naim, has brought the country to the point where it is facing a massive budget shortfall.

Meanwhile Russia, benefitting froma high USD and weak Rouble, has never had it so good and is now producing at record levels.
