xxx, What private hire fleet? The coach fleet only accounts for a fraction of group fleet strength nowadays, it's mainly all buses.

Hmmm and dierector buying reassures me. Singificant issue is illiquidity in the shares...the other area I would like to know more about, is what are they doing with their private hire fleet.

Love it when a share moves this much and hardly anyone is here commenting about it

But on a the positive side then the lunchtime RNS today indicated a Non-Exec Director picking up GBP 16.5k worth.... ... and .... the buses seemed a little busier today ... :-)

If they have the same number of passengers on each Rotala bus as the main operator (NX West Mids) on scheduled services then they'll only be having about a third of normal passenger numbers presently - but presume overheads remain as normal. Presume no charter services. So as to whether this is the bottom then a lot of factors require considering.

Anyone still holding Rotala? With government supporting the bus companies and directors buying heavily in May I am surprised it has nearly halved since then ! Down 16% today....any reason?

This appears to be a Graham and Dodd type value stock, but difficult to deal in and with a big spread. If/when we return to normal[I assume 2 years], with a significant div yield, based on last years figures. Any thoughts[either way] ?

Hi bisho4, No to electric hybrids - they're all Euro 6 Diesel Micro Hybrids only, same as the existing 19 plate Streetdecks & 68 plate Streetlites already in the fleet. Diamond Bus do have funding for 5 existing fleet conversions to electric which were due to proceed, that could now be put on hold given the uncertainty?

Hi Winston, I was under the impression (perhaps wrongly) that the hybrids were hydrogen-powered, but it looks like they are electric hybrids. I am still pleased Rotala have one eye on the future of a post-oil world.

bisho4, Rotala aren't buying Hydrogen powered buses, they've ordered Euro 6 diesel smart hybrids Streetdecks & Streelites. Hydrogen powered buses are still far too costly to consider at present. The bulk of the 128 bus order for DBNW Bolton will allow the 100+ buses still on lease from First Group to return, the Rotala purchase will however, significantly increase the proportion of double decker's in Bolton's fleet.

Thanks for posting, rolo7. It's good to see Rotala looking to the future with the hybrid Hydrogen-powered Wrightbus purchases. The average age of current Rotala buses in service is 9.5 years, so I would hope that as the older ones are phased out they will be replaced by hydrogen or electric buses.

Yes definitely good value risk/reward and a good hedge for downturn in economy as more will end up on buses. i am going to invite them back to Mello2020 in May

Trading statement out of the way and a lot of talk about the bus market. Trading at 7 times prospective, yielding 5%, hmmm.
