Why has this slipped back?

Because too many people thought 55p was a good price?

Oversubscribed, wasn’t expecting that. Didn’t tender any of mine. Those selling at 55p can buy back cheaper now if the shares slip back.

I kept the small amount of shares I hold. management know what they are doing and guess can't sell as have inside knowledge of future company opportunities.

Having considered things i am going to keep my shares.Bus men through and through are running this company and i feel rightly or wrongly this gives Rotala a competitive advantage.Still think long term Rotala is worth more than 55p.As always GLA

If some leave or sell part of their shareholding then the reduction in shares will increase eps for the rest of us and the business is in good health

I don't think I'll be taking up the tender offer either. I'm keeping my full ROL holding long term.

I'm interested to see how Rotala fair in Tranche 2 & 3 of TfGM's bus franchise bidding & they also seem to be gaining larger Pvr tenders in the West Midlands from TfWM with NXWM not currently bidding due to their on-going driver shortages. NX & Rotala have also rationalized some competing services during November 2022 & January 2023 which has reduced operating costs & should improve profitability, with further services due to be rationalized during April.

Tender offer at 55p a 34% premium to yesterday’s closing price. Basic entitlement is 35.6% of your holding. Not sure it’s for me but I’ll think about it.

It always helps when the directors are passionate about their business...and know it inside out.

xxx,
Their Bolton depot would be too far away to operate any other large franchises from, too much dead mileage involved to/from route start/finish points, plus too big to run at under half capacity if they moved Eccles new & existing work in to there. Transport for Greater Manchester will own all the depots, operators all the vehicles, but TfGM are brokering the purchase/sales of the vehicles. I understand Rotala will receive some/all of the cash a few months before Go North West takeover Bolton in Sept 23.
As a side note, Stagecoach of the other hand have neither sold their Wigan depot or vehicles to TfGM, not sure what they're planning....

Interesting, thanks @Winston.
To help me understand, why didnt they keep the Bolton depot till they know the outcome of the franchise awards that you refer to + lease space to the new franchise winner?

xxx,

There's still two more Tranches of Manchester Franchises to bid for (large & small), Rotala are retaining the existing Bolton senior managment, I suspect Rotala will bid strongly for the large Oldham Franchise currently operated by First.
Virtually all of Stagecoach Manchester's operations are still to be awarded (excl Wigan), as is Go North West's existing Queens Road depot.
