As far as I know then the bus fares are monitored by TfWM (in West Mids at least) - but please correct me if I am wrong - hence I would have thought no unilateral fare increase.This afternoon's fall due to the RNS for Outcome of Judicial Review Hearing - Rotala 'lost'.

A smaller bus company will find it easy to pass on fuel increases, but the fuel will be on a rolling 12 month hedge anyway...

Interesting offer for Stagecoach this morning. Unfortunately every Rotala bus I have seen in Brum recently was either empty or had just one or two passengers - seemingly travelling on concession age passes.

Indeed ... let us see what the future brings. The Trustpilot revues for Diamond Buses don't seem that great - ditto for NEX.

Well by now Transport for West Midlands must realize the unreliability of the Nat Xpress West Midlands bus routes. My personal opinion now is that in any forthcoming significant review / reorganisation of West Mids bus services then Nat Xpress operations should be curtailed and other companies should have a shot at providing better and more reliable services. Time will tell if this does happen or not.

Hopefully the forthcoming National Bus Strategy will assist in ROL expanding its services in the West Midlands - the service provided by the present major operator (NEX) seems to be noticably deteriorating.
