11/11/2019 17:04 | 5% share price hit today which is probably Forex. | wad collector
07/11/2019 22:22 | With the advantage of hindsight , it was neutral. FY profit at lower end of estimates is not encouraging , but slightly positive note about the blades. Quiet hold for me. | wad collector
07/11/2019 07:44 | Hard to know how today's trading update will be received. Some progress but some issues tougher than previously thought, will take longer and cost more to fix. Trent 1000 issues "only one major design fix remaining" "Improved high pressure turbine (HPT) blade for Trent 1000 TEN - the final fundamental issue to address - postponed to 2021" "Although we regret that the blade will not be ready when we had originally planned, our understanding of the technical issues has significantly improved" "Longer term as the Trent 1000 costs subside, we remain confident in our mid-term ambition of at least £1 of FCF per share." •Improved trading since the Half Year, however we now expect Full Year operating profit and FCF outcome towards the lower end of guidance ranges •At least £1bn FCF in 2020, underpinned by restructuring benefits, operational efficiency improvements, further efforts to reduce inventory and disciplined approach to capital allocation •Confident in mid-term ambition of £1 per share of FCF as Trent 1000 costs subside | hydrogen economy
05/11/2019 13:30 | The British government holds a “golden share” in Rolls-Royce which means certain deals need its consent, while foreign ownership of Rolls-Royce is limited to 15 percent as part of rules drawn up when it was privatised in 1987. There was takeover speculation a few yrs ago and some concern as the nuclear sub role is crucial. Guess a UK company could bid , the BAe takeover /merger story is perennial. Depends how much you are offering them Kanwar.... | wad collector
01/11/2019 15:27 | Any chance RR. could be taken over?? | kanwar
01/11/2019 12:00 | Ramp up up , jan 2019 to £10 many analyst singing the same tune, engine run time has reduced, turbo blades ect needs a new means of thrust . RR. in the doldrums . year 2021 new engines, share price then £ 10 BB | black bird
22/10/2019 16:02 | Rayrac (3197) "Oh dear, is there a cure?" What nasty disease do you have this time? | arf dysg
22/10/2019 15:53 | Ah, bless, it's little buywell. buywell3 (3175) "How much compensation will RR have to pay the likes of Boeing ?" None. I hope that's the sort of simple answer you can understand. R-R makes deals with individual airlines, so R-R will have to pay compensation to individual airlines. | arf dysg
03/10/2019 13:37 | Looking like a multi year H&S forming on this - suggests it's going a lot lot lower, and judging by the business, which I consider to be insolvent kept going by debt, I wouldn't be surprised to see this hit 300 possibly even lower. | owenski
03/10/2019 12:01 | Looking to buy in around 700p if possible | ny boy

27/9/2019 08:10 | ROLLS ROYCE: U.S. nuclear energy firm Westinghouse Electric Co said on Thursday it would buy Rolls-Royce Holding's Civil Nuclear Systems and Services business in North America, to boost its growth in North American and European nuclear markets. | standish11
20/9/2019 16:23 | HP turbine and IP turbine problems. Someone in the turbine group at Derby will be worrying. Reducing staff headcount by retiring early some experienced, scruffy turbine engineers who have trodden the boards is all very well, makes the bottom line look better for a while, a false economy. | careful
20/9/2019 07:51 | "We have also taken a proactive decision to accelerate intermediate pressure turbine (IPT) blade replacement for the limited number of Package B and C engines yet to be fitted with the final standard of IPT blade", almost sounds encouraging but is presumably a response to finding that things are worse than previously thought, "we now expect the return to single-digit level of AOGs on the Trent 1000 to be delayed until Q2 2020" "Our guidance for the cash costs of the Trent 1000 Package B and C in-service issues in 2019 and 2020 remains as announced on 6 August 2019." - OK Cash costs no change, but will costs from customers charged back to RR or other costs increase? Sounds like this one will run and run, which the engines unfortunately won't. RNS Number : 0383NRolls-Royce Holdings plc 20 September 2019 TRENT 1000 UPDATE On 6 August 2019, with our Half Year Results, we cautioned that the rate of recovery in Trent 1000 Aircraft On Ground (AOG) this year was likely to be slower than our original plans, due to the additional Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) load resulting from faster deterioration of the high pressure turbine (HPT) blade on the Trent 1000 TEN. This has remained a challenge. Since then, we have also taken a proactive decision to accelerate intermediate pressure turbine (IPT) blade replacement for the limited number of Package B and C engines yet to be fitted with the final standard of IPT blade. This has led to additional engine removals. As a result, though we continue to work on further increasing our MRO capacity, these challenges mean that we now expect the return to single-digit level of AOGs on the Trent 1000 to be delayed until Q2 2020. We deeply regret the additional disruption that this will cause our customers and we continue to work closely with them to minimise the impact on their operations. Our guidance for the cash costs of the Trent 1000 Package B and C in-service issues in 2019 and 2020 remains as announced on 6 August 2019. | hydrogen economy

10/9/2019 10:58 | UBS CUTS ROLLS-ROYCE PRICE TARGET TO 1000 (1160) PENCE - 'BUY' Which goes to show that if you ask three analysts for an opinion, you get six answers. | caradog
03/9/2019 11:56 | RR was always protected by HMG holding a golden share. This used to restrict overseas ownership to 25%. Has this changed? (If Boris Johnson gets his hard Brexit, with Value Act holding a menacing holding, it could be speculative punt to assume the golden share will be removed.) | careful
03/9/2019 11:45 | Further to my post 3187 on Dafrogs question re sale of needed UK asssets, I see today on BBC business live (can't link, so copy/paste extract): "Voices of concern are being raised about the sale of UK aerospace and defence supplier Cobham to US private equity group Advent International in a deal that values it at £4bn. Former defence secretary Michael Heseltine has said "no other country in the world" would allow a sensitive takeover to pass without scrutiny." So it would seem there is no mandatory mechanism for protection from sale of assets key to UK. Dave | dr_smith
