IMHO Peach is a good complement as it does better in the periods when RBG does not e.g. weekdays v weekends etc, more food than drink etc. Let's see if the proposes costs savings can be realised.

Although Q1 sales are disappointingly down c10% in Q1 they did rise this time last year by 20% (based on 2019 pre covid) so it is still 10% above pre covid levels. Also Q2 is the biggest revenue period for RBG and last year this suffered due to a 'soft' lockdown. If we avoid it this year results should be much better. Let's see what H1 numbers look like

Looked at RBG earlier in the year and came to the cynical conclusion that the only winners were the salaried company management.
Peach is not an obviously complementary business. Customer base by age, location and affluence look different.
We know RBG have energy costs fixed until April 2023. What about Peach's energy? Peach pub estate looks like high energy historic properties.

I have continued to watch RBG hoping for a boost during the football world cup in November and December plus a covid free Christmas. RBG LFL sales are already down 9.1% in Q1 before you take into account inflation.

The management have decided it is more profitable to an operator in a slightly different field than expand the existing formats. This does make sense as Pitcher is an experience operator. There is no share issue so although risk increases I suspect that returns will also and teee will be mire efficiency savings than already declared.Although the like for likes are disappointing a good chunk of the rev trade is over the Xmas period which was largely cancelled last year.Currentvmanagement are delivering and looking at different formats. At existing levels the share are attractive to a consolidator within the industry snd do offer reasonable prospects so let's wait and ser

i live close to 3 peach pubs and ive been in all 3 over the last ten years and they are busy and do serve great gastro pub grub. perhaps it was an offer too good to refuse or maybe the Peach owners fancied a new challenge. This is a medium term recovery stock and at 12p a bit of a bargain me thinks

Now a two trick pony.

Ask not why Revolution wanted to buy but why Peachy wanted to sell.

KE will no doubt bid for a few after another equity raise at a heavy discount to the current share price He will lead us through to a better place or so most think.

Hard to keep a man of KE's stature down for so long a time, another funding call to the poor shareholders at 7.5p or less might be coming to keep the hard working BOD salaries being paid.

KE

Failed to sell to Stonegate at 200p
Failed to merge with Deltic and create a nightlife titan
Raised emergency funding at 20p in Covid
Did a rubbish cva
Raised another round of emergency 20p funding
Spent it all on vanity refurbs and green agenda
Ended up with a register or weirdos
Stopped talking to the market
Has a broker which can’t find any investors
And yet KE still thinks it’s his business. Someone needs to take this out with a half reasonable bid and retire KE into oblivion in the process

Probably a bottom of sorts being put in here with gov support for business and consumers. Gas prices are falling, oil is down, inflation will steady later this year imo

Interesting extract from the press release on 2/8/2022:

"Our industry leading sustainability agenda has allowed us to reduce our carbon footprint and mitigate, in part, the widely reported energy cost price increases. Our energy prices remain largely fixed until spring 2023."

And come spring 2023, the warmer weather will be here again.

The share price is where it's at because of the boards decisions on not changing the brand. Vodka is now out of date with current drinking habits. This company is a one trick pony
