Seems like the market does not believe in the RBG comeback.

MCB most of the debt from inventory & bank facilities against importing raw materials but revenues growth to 700 millions , which is very good ... but it has strong cash liquidity & margins ... RBS debt has reduced & accounts showing better because they went placing to raise 34 m but their profitability we will know better next year trading updates

Agree younger age groups are fully employed and being paid more than ever, but are often not responsible for paying the higher food and energy bills at home.

I would not read to much into the Wetherspoons beer sales. A very reasonable pre covid £2 pint was 99p before Christmas and still only £1.50. I doubt beer volumes are down if sales are 8% down in £s.

MCB have had massive input price rises but output prices take time to agree. 3 months plus. They manufacture supermarket own brand washing powder and liquid which should benefit in the hard times ahead.

Always difficult to compare companies in different sectors but looking at MCB not only are they highly indebted the RNS last week stated the debt level had increased c£50m over the last 6 months. If they can get back to profitability there is a decent company, however, short term things don't look great IMHO. I would use Wetherspoons updates as a guide rather than a comparison with RBG. They are a pub and beer sales are declined (8% in the last update), they have an older, lower socio economic clientele so have been heavily impacted by covid and the cost of living crisis. In fact in the last few RNSs the one growth area has been co cktails - now what do RBG sell? It is a fact that the RBG target audience (18 to 24) is less impacted by covid, interest rate rises and utility increases etc

Martin "The company remains cautiously optimistic about future prospects".
Where did he say things will not get better for a good while?

And as the great pub man Martin over at Wetherspoons is warning things will not get better for a good while.

Be interesting to see how this is impacting RBG as it’s still a different demographic, I feel. Younger people who have less financial responsibilities, and credit

Would it dissuade them?

This looks a bargain. Bars and restaurants in London are packed and young people continue to spend uninterested in all the doom and gloom
