Hello long-suffering Renewi shareholders. Does anyone have an idea as to why the stock price is on this unrelenting downward spiral ? Is there some nasty news out there? Or is it a general apathy to London listed smaller companies ?

Stating that “the shares are trading in a rating more reflective of legacy issues rather than future opportunities”. I think Theo that’s the issue. Investors are still wary that the past could come back to haunt the share price….

Hi Theo,
I think we are bouncing along a strong line of support.
As I said earlier, sub 480 end of week would be very bad news IMHO.
But bouncing about £5 is ok.

I'm kind of fed up with this plummeting all the time.
Any one care to share their thoughts?

490-500 has proven to be a very strong support zone since mid 2021.
A breach under 480 end of week would be very bearish.
Equally a bounce should take us to 540 quickly, followed by a £6 shorter-term target.

…and perhaps unsurprisingly Berenberg as the recently appointed joint-broker initiates coverage with a Buy rating and a 950p price target

The above provided link somehow changes the double t
into double x's. I got this article within a newsletter.
Changing the x's into t's should provide an interesting article.

From Edison Research “our European peer group comparison provides a valuation of 913p after taking into account 154p per share for the UK municipal contract provisions. Our DCF valuation, using a cost of capital of 9.5% and terminal growth rate of 2%, comes to 926p. This suggests a significant valuation gap, which we would expect to narrow as the consistency of earnings and growth initiatives come through”

Results are not as good as I had hoped for, but only slightly poorer. The near stationary EBIT prediction for FY24 is a bit disappointing for me too, considering Paro's aquisition and the amount of investment we've put in to new processes/equipment.
Still - a divvy in sight, which must mean that they really do expect things to (slowly) improve from now on.

That would be a welcome development Outsize, but would be another nail in the smaller public company market coffin. However I am concerned at the low marks at close before the results on Thursday. Not sure if this implies any bid activity…

Could we see an "out of left field" bid announced on 25th ?

Fair point Outsize, could be, but I prefer my version 😃 either way, let’s hope BB has a positive impact on the perception of RWI. Not long to wait now, final results on the 25th.

Possibly Sausage.
The only other reason for appointing a joint broker would be to raise capital into a larger potential shareholder base, e.g. a biggish placing to fund an attractive aquisition, where the current level of debt might stop them issuing more bonds.
Unless they can identify what the market can clearly see is an absolute steal, (p/e 4 or less) I'd prefer them to pay down a good chunk of debt and start divvys again.
